The Official Book of Souls Tour 2016 Thread (Warning: Spoilers within!)

And damn, Nicko is getting old!
I'm starting to fear a lot about the band's longevity

But he still can play those drums like one crazy mofo, despite his age..

And he started taking care of himself before this tour, lost some weight and quit drinking. I think he has at least 5 more years of drumming at the highest level in him.

In 5 years, he'll have 68. So, let's put the deadline at 70 years old, in 2023.

2016-2017 1st sem: Book of Souls World Tour
2017 2nd sem-2018 1st sem: Rest (Bruce and Steve solo stuff)
2018 2nd sem: New Album
2019-2020: Tour
2021: Rest
2022-2023: Farewell Tour

Well, on that scenario, we'll need to choose between a 90's historical tour and a new album tour. I'll pick the last

In one of the interviews recently - it might have been in the FC magazine - Nicko said he couldn't imagine still doing it at 70, and mentioned that he had arthritis.

If he doesn't, then it's giant the chance that, after this tour, we'll see the Farewell Tour, maybe releasing one last album (but not touring with it) after the tour.

Or Steve picks a drummer to replace Nicko, which I think that is highly unlikely (Steve himself will be 60 this year)

Anyone else off here going to Cardiff to see Ed Force One this week?!

I won't be going, but it sounds like a few fans, as well as aviation enthusiasts, will be around at some point. Apparently it'll be there until about noon on Friday, then it flies out to Florida.

From: http://bravewords.com/news/iron-mai...tacular-drum-set-for-book-of-souls-world-tour
McBrain told Metal Shock Finland, “There’s something very very special that they’ve done for me on this drum kit, which I can’t really tell you about cos it’s gonna be revealed at the first show. It’s an absolute splendid, spectacular drum set and I think it’s probably gonna top the Somewhere In Time kit and that’s 30 years ago.

Also, this was posted on a Maiden group on Facebook:

Sorry if any of this has already been posted here, but sometimes it's hard to catch every single post.

I'm quite excited! Even though I'll only be watching youtube vids and such, I can't wait to see the stage production and what they have planned for the title track. It could be something really theatrical because of what the song is about.

I'll happily link you my youtube channel on the 25th. I'll be shooting the concert on the first night but only new songs or deep cuts.... Not wasting battery on the same stuff I have heard every tour.... :/
would go nuts if they pulled this out

Remember the time when the bus driver ignored you and drove straight past you? :p
