The inevitable 1990s tour after Book of Souls Tour ends

I'll add, I am not really convinced there will be a 2nd leg of the TBOS tour. They might well do a more all encompassing tour next time out, if that is the case whatever songs end up in the video game might be a big hint as to what they will play on that .. or maybe they will shock the hell out of us and do another album

I would not be surprised if we never hear a Blaze song again. I'd love to hear Clansman or Sign of the Cross, but I doubt it'll happen. The most we can ever expect from the 90s is to get Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Be Quick or Be Dead, Tailgunner, or maybe Bring Your Daughter pulled back into the rotation (with ATSS being the one with the greatest chance).

This :(

I think a 2nd leg is a cert due to the lack of UK gigs. Unless they announce/add some dates after they play Donnington. There's no way they would play one UK gig in support of a number 1 album I don't think.

Add to that the guitar picks with Chapter One on them that are being used on this tour and I think 2017 or late 2016 will see more gigs.

Hopefully if we keep saying this, it'll happen...

Interesting.

That is interesting about the picks. I hope there is a leg 2, this is just a great tour. But, until they announce anything officially, who knows

I don't see why there wouldn't be a leg 2, I think the band even hinted at that at some point.

Nicko and Bruce(?) said that they will tour for two years. Or Rod told them not to do anything else the next two years (2016 and 17).

It would be very strange if they only spent one year promoting what is arguably the biggest album they've done since reuniting and a whole year away from touring.

Once again I could do without a second (and third!) year of "the same". The clock ticks.
So, I'd like to see them going back to the studio in 2016/2017, be it for Maiden or other projects. And then have them on the road with something else afterwards.

Don't sue me. This is the perspective of a fan who specifically likes to see his favourite band tour and be as creative as they can within the limited time there is left. The more spent on A, the less time for B.

That would be my preference as well, though if the choice were Book of Souls Year 2 (maybe with some setlist changes) or some other history tour .. I would take BoS Pt2. But yeah, another album and tour for that would be optimal.

Assuming they do go back in the studio straight after a second leg next year - although personally I'd rather they took more time - they recorded TBOS straight after a tour, they could potentially do the same again.

I think a 90's tour would be better received now than it was in the 90's. I also think time has allowed The XF and VXI to sit better within the maiden discography and I know that my feelings towards them and Blaze has certainly led to me appreciating them more.
I used to think that when Bruce's voice went they may start doing more Blaze material as a lot of it is sung in a lower register or key but I'm glad to see that his voice is better than ever.

I don't want maiden to tour for too long, rather see them get into the studio and bang out another album. I'd love to see live at Donnington re released and continue the history documentaries but I'd be cool if they didn't do another history tour.

That's just from a selfish point of view to be honest as I lived through the 90's as a maiden fan and saw them twice live with blaze and on the ed hunter tour with Bruce. The previous history tours were special to me because they mainly covered eras from before my time as a fan.

What I would be pissed with is if they don't extend this current tour slightly at the end with a run of uk dates. I'm so pissed off seeing this massive book of souls tour currently going on knowing that their is just one poxy uk date at a festival I have no interest in. Again from a selfish point of view I'd be happy for hem to wrap up this tour then just throw in a handful of uk dates then, have a few months break and get right back in the studio.

I've heard on the grapevine that arrangements are in place for something in the UK, although the suggestion was back end of 2016, which conflicts with what they've said in one of their press releases.

I think it would be too late to announce uk dates for 2016 as I'm sure they can't say anything until after (or during ) download. That's middle of August so to have something sorted by end of year would seem tough, though not impossible.

I can wait till next year as long as I know theirs uk dates.

If I were to guess I would say there will be a second leg of this tour in 2017, they will then take a break and come together sometime in 2018 to record a new album for a late release or early 2019.

There may be a gimme ead till im dead type summer tour to fill in some space like they did before the dod tour early 2018.

Download is in mid June, that's where they announced the two London shows in 2013. But the 'winter tour' claim really does conflict with one of their press releases which said Download was the only UK show of 2016.
