The Future Past Tour 2024

And they included Steve’s machine gun pose! Iconic for this song!
That was great. Finally a live version of this single after all these years. Stranger is such a great and better live song.
As far as I'm concerned it sounds pretty decent! Bruce's voice on this tour seems reinvigorated (the last tour I can remind of when he sounded better was Maiden England) and given the circumstances Nicko also delivers. So, I'm not worried about how a live album for this tour would sound like that much. And even less if it's recorded in 2024 (taking in account Nicko will recover his dexterity even more). If it's neither recorded during a show with a band member sick (like in the abomination we've got in the form of the last live album) nor it's produced and mixed by Steve. well: judging by what I've listened to in YT, I'm expecting quite a cool thing.
More or less, this. As for Bruce's voice, I'd say since 2018.
I adore how even the fucking clean guitars during the interlude solo are distorting to hell and back, let alone H's solo tone. Fucking Christ, this is seriously the worst sounding thing they've ever put out. What the fuck is wrong in the Maiden camp that this is their idea of good representation for this tour?
There is indeed something odd with Adrian's tone. The worst sounding thing they've ever put our? Probably the 2022 one or the 1993 ones. This new one at least has some power in the mix.
this video is not a professional release. Same goes for the video part, it's not part of a live album (hopefully) just a mere advertisement with a full song. I'm grateful we got something at least. I hope that we'll also get more videos from the tour. The legacy videos were better in both departments tho.
This is not the Wacken mix. It's Maiden's. For the video part I agree. They kept the tradition with those live videos in recent years. We could get one more live video from the tour, methinks. The Legacy live videos were better and great.

Some fucking idiot in the comments is trying to claim that Nickos drum tech is "playing half the songs for him"
YouTube comments are always trash and the ones at the bottom of any given video's comments section will make you question your sanity and faith in humanity. Nothing new under the sun, people are stupid and need their conspiracies to feel validated and in the know.

A lot of trolls
Sir, please, can You be more specific? It was...
Cave-trolls?
Hill-trolls?
Mountain-trolls?
Olog-hai?
Snow-trolls?
Stone-trolls?

much appreciated thank You.
(I'm doing research about magical creatures) :ninja:

Hard to know how much of that mix is down to Tony Newton's tin ear and how much of it is down to Steve sat behind him telling him what to do. I've watched livestreams from festivals with better audio.

BTW, did Tony Newton actually mix this? The more I listen to it the more it sounded like it isn't mixed and they just recorded it out of the soundboard without extracting the individual tracks to mix them. Either that or they extracted the individual tracks and just merged them without taking any further steps like lowering the gain. Cause when you merge two tracks of the same gain, the gain doubles so imagine with many more tracks (vocals, bass, drums, 3 guitars) it also has no low end and doesn't sound very stereo.

This is probably a "post mix", and sounds like Newton, other than being a bit bass light and mid range forward; the stereo imaging is pretty nice. It could be a direct feed, but there's usually more mic bleed etcetera. The distortion aside, this sounds fairly polished, in contrast to most Maiden broadcast mixes the last 10 years.

I hope you're right when saying that the song hasn't been mixed. Otherwise, it would be a catastrophe for the fans and the band itself...

Thanks for the pre-sale code, I was able to procure a primo ticket for 11/02/24 at the Barclays Center. Come what may in a span of a year, it's better to have it and have it than to need it and not have it. I am full-on stoked to witness the duel between Bruce and Eddie during Heaven Can Wait. Especially in my hometown of Brooklyn, New York.

Here is what I'm hoping happens during Maiden's next US circuit:

1. To be realistic, America is most likely getting Killswitch Engage as direct support. If I had it my way I'd love to see Enforcer and Blind Guardian on the bill instead. If it's singular, it's gotta be Dragonfoce. Dragonforce are dropping Warp Speed Warriors next March and if you've seen recent videos of their stage setup, you know that Dragonforce's sound and overall aesthetic would match perfectly with Maiden's neo Tokyo motif.

2. Better event shirts: Okay not to be crass but event shirts as of late have been a bit shite for the Future Past tour, thus far. Fingers cross the next leg will improve in that area pending the city that's getting a date specific shirt of course.

3. They're probably locked-in, but as long as Caught Somewhere in Time, The Time Machine, and Hell on Earth remain in the set, eveything else is whatever set-list wise for me. I've been blessed to witness some amazing deep track Maiden classics since 2005. But hey, I'd be chuffed if Sea of Madness or even Deja-Vu spice up the set.

4. Above all things, for the band members to be in good health. Knowing what we know now about Bruce and Nicko's health scares, time waits for no man but I'm sure everyone will be alright.

I think you're right, but somehow it doesn't sound like a pure Tony Newton mix (especially the drum sound).

I hope for more Samurai Eddie themed shirts this time. Especially given the new tour trailer.

It does rather sound like The X Factor sound... So, it seems that it's Steve Harris himself that mixed the video of Wacken performance...
