The Future Past Tour 2024

That's your opinion, which is not "objectively right". I've listened to Live Chapter probably hundreds of times with headphones, and it sounds great. You can hear every instrument clearly, and it all sounds vital and powerful. The prominent keyboards at the end of The Red and the Black sound great and really add to the atmosphere of the song. On the studio version, they're barely audible. I think Tony did a great job on Live Chapter.
I completely agree. My favorite sounding live Maiden album. Love the way Nicko sounds on that one. Although I do hear that awful audience volume change in the beginning of Wrathchild. It’s okay though cuz I tend to always skip that song ^_^

1st Chile show is SOLD OUT
Not surprising. If there is only two South-American shows then it is.

And speaking about Bruce happening to have a bad night whenever they record a live album, there is not a very much you can do because the gig which is recorded is probably chosen before the tour even starts. For example they recorded Live After Death in Long Beach Arena because they knew they would be there for four nights, much better to adjust to the venue and it makes it easier for sound engineers to set everything up and hone details. Of course the later on tour the show is the more likely vocals are strained which is the downside. And on top of that Bruce caught cold couple of months before and his voice didn't recover for the remainder of the tour.

Awesome aside from the clipping distortion all over. Maiden Magnetic. :D
Very good performance, kudos to Bruce and Nicko, but why do they always choose to release something from the last shows of a tour. I think this time it was because of Nicko. Stranger is not a difficult song for him though. Legend. He is so happy.

I think they won't use Wacken for a full show release (because it starts during the daylight, and this tour is not for that), instead it might get one or two songs because it's easy for them to use this pro-shot footage.

I really don't like the mixed footage lately (Death Or Glory, Run To The Hills), but this serves more as a promo video for the tour. To include a football footage is another level of wrong though.

The sound is not that bad imo, but in reality it should be much much better. Clipping is not serious, for any band! It's more or less like Stratego's live video from last year. I like that Adrian's guitar is loud and clear, but Janick's sound should have been louder. And that's and official release! Bruce should stop talking during this beautiful solo. Adrian did a great job, as always. Since Live Chapter (I like the sound of it), the rhythm guitar and the drum sound can be better (I miss the powerful rhythm guitar sound) - although I like that Nicko's hit-hat is loud for this song. I think the drum sound is better than on the Stratego video (although it's drowned out by the vocals), but overall the sound should be better. The sound is better when you see the band live. I really don't know why a band like Maiden doesn't care or want to have the best live sound possible. I really don't.

The solution is easy - bring back Kevin for the live sound.

Dance Of Death 2.0
DOD's mix is better.
Stranger sounds in the ballpark of the last live album.
Yes, which is really bad. Only the drum sound is good. We should prepare ourselves, but oh well, at least there will be something. After all, better than nothing.
Listening to a professionally recorded live rendition of this song serves as a poignant reminder of the vast reservoir of outstanding material that still lacks the finesse of a live performance capture.
So true. From all albums really. SIT and AMOLAD lead the pack.
I swear to fucking God I'll strangle him personally if the inevitable live album has a certified 'Arry footie mate Tony Newton mix instead of someone vaguely competent at the helm. These songs deserve someone who actually has a vague comprehension of what music is and how mixing works.
Are you expecting something different?
I'm surprised - even for Maiden's recent standards - that someone thought that sounded good enough to upload.
Unfortunately, you can also hear these sound mistakes in SJ, which is even more unacceptable.
All it takes is to listen to the first 15 seconds of Wrathchild to hear one of the most amateurish volume automations I've ever heard on a professional album.
Wacken, due to being, well, Wacken, had one of the worst crowds of the tour (not as far as numbers go, but enthusiasm) so there's no way they'd use that one for a proper live album.
This.

Yeah. The best for Bruce's voice are performances from mid-tour. Most of the time, he sings better near the end of the tour than at the start.

Loved that live "Stranger" video. Bruce sound phenomenal. H is killing it. Janick's Eastern outro is such a cool touch. And Nicko must be immortal, the way he can suffer a stroke on top of his arthritis and still sound this damn good at the tail end of a tour. Love this band.

Not paying much attention to the mix, I just played the video through my computer, no headphones. There is a lot of clipping but whatever. Wish they would only show footage from the song in question, I can do without the jumping to other concerts and songs, etc. But overall this is a wonderful live performance and I'm looking forward to seeing them next year. Haven't gotten tickets yet, but I certainly plan on it.

Did you not get the memo?

I've watched the video last night and I must admit that the video in itself is awesome (except some parts). The problem is the sound. There are parasites in the mix. Like an ugly old recording from the 80's... I guess it's due to the compression on YT, but I don't think it's the final mix for a possible future live album. The quality wouldn't be attractive to fans. Nevertheless, the production sounds very similar to the one on Nights Of The Dead live album from Mexico. Please, Rod Smallwood and Steve Harris, put back Kevin Shirley or hire Andy Sneap, Jacob Hansen or Terje Refsnes to record, mix and master your future live albums !!!

Edit : Maybe Steve wanted an oldschool vinyl sounding live video...
