The Future Past Tour 2024

Saw on the fanclub that Bruce is wearing the 1986 light jacket tonight!
I was at the NJ show two nights ago and can confirm yes a Bruce was wearing the jacket from SIT tour. He made some announcements about it (kind of difficult to hear) but it’s true. He said it doesn’t light up anymore and it’s heavy.

The show was brilliant. I haven’t seen them live since I was a 15 year old kid in 1987 but they were as good as ever. I especially loved ATG and Hell on Earth, but upbeat rockers Heaven Can Wait and Can IPlay With Madness got some of the best crowd responses.

So cool to see Bruce wear the '86 jacket again, even for 1 show. No lights and only for the first half of CSIT but it was a trip down memory lane.

I think he didn't want to use it again on this tour so as not to copy the unique aspects of the 1986 tour. And it is heavy.

It's a testament to his physical health that he can still fit in it nearly 40 years on.

They still sound good, but nevertheless I have to say that I find it contradictory how some people here expect them to be a top live band and at the same time want to deny them what is needed to be one, namely a drummer who is not limited.
They need a new drummer.
This has nothing at all to do with the fact that I admire the way Nicko has handled the situation and what he has achieved, but that is still my objective assessment, sorry.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Let Nicko be the legend he is, but in retirement that he deserves. The other boys are in an amazing shape performance wise, so it should be for the benefit of the band.

Don’t blame Nicko just because Adrian can’t play his guitar ;)

In all seriousness though I really dig the fast tempos, Maiden really needs more of that imo. Perhaps these are the first signs of the guitarists’ ages showing though. Maybe the finger dexterity is degrading ever so slightly.
I have no prob with Nics tempo unless the other guys cant keep up. Which Adrian clearly cant. I dont if thats more Adrians fault or Nickos lol

I am not sure you understood. One of the main problems is the inconsistency.
By the way, if our drummer had the attitude: I play the songs at the tempo I like and if you don't keep up, your fault, that he would be our drummer for a long time, lol.
A good musician has to function well in a band.

We have even bigger problems. Bruce and Steve had an argument and Bruce has left the band. I just saw a commenter revealed that on the Iron Maiden Facebook page. (It is nonsense, of course.)

Someone asked if Bruce said something about the US election. I think he said in Newark something like: Who informed you that this show takes place here tonight? One of the presidential candidates?
But I am not sure why this is funny. Maybe someone who was there knows more.
