The Future Past tour 2023

Regarding Bruce's recent statement about fans being happy.
It is not possible that during the Senjutsu recording sessions they recorded enough material for two albums and the second part is going to be released. If I remember correctly there are no Dave songs on Senjutsu so maybe the one or two that he composed are on the new one.
It's just a wacky theory.
There is no extra material recorded. Coming from a trustworthy source.

They wanted to book a studio in 2021, but it was too much hassle to fly Dave, Nicko and Steve to Paris.

Votes!

What is it with these survivor posts popping up in threads. Polls are stupid if you ask me. But for those who like them keep them to their own threads and stop begging for votes in other threads.

Forum games are a long tradition here. If you don't like them, don't participate. But don't complain when people try to get interest, either. Lots of people like to play and just need a reminder.

Here's a suggestion: how about you don't advertise them in other unrelated threads because that's literally something that in any other case, done by a non-staff member would likely be met with rather hostile feedback and staff response.
Oh come on, this thread routinely goes widely off-topic and is basically a hang-out lounge, where we're just posting about random Maiden related stuff, until the tour starts again or we get more information. In fact, we derailed the thread with the complaint again, adding much more posts than a single "vote!". Ironic.

There is no EXTRA material from Senjutsu recorded, but there is surely NEW material from another recording session for the 18th album recorded. ;)

On the topic of opening bands for North America 2024, The Warning would be a great choice. They're a great female power trio from Mexico with a fan base from all generations, especially baby boomers, gen x and older millennials, because their sound appeals to them. But they also attract some younger fans.

I was at the Baltimore show in May and they were awesome and full of energy.

All this chat of "they've wrote songs during lockdown" is fan fiction nonsense. As Vaenyr mentioned earlier in the thread, they baiscally don't write much until they enter the studio these days. For most of that it's Steve locking himself in a room while the rest of them wait for him to emerge with a song.
I feel like people forget how Maiden writes music nowadays. Adrian might have some developed demos and the rest has some ideas but they don't go with fully formed and previously written songs into the studio anymore. They book the studio, spend a couple of weeks there, Steve locks himself into a room and connects as many of his ideas into a 10+ minute song, while Bruce will sit with Adrian to work out a couple of songs. Afterwards Steve will work with each of the amigos. This is basically their process nowadays.

Bruce in an Interview about Senjutsu Recording
“We turn up to the studio with nothing planned, and look at one another and go: ‘Okay, what have you got?’ And then Steve or Adrian reaches into their box of toys and pulls out a riff or half a song, and I go: ‘Alright! I’m liking that! Let’s go!’ We jiggle and tweak things – it’s like a cross between a game of tennis and a juggling match – and we see what comes out. Steve is a lot more controlling about his stuff, it’s fair to say. He might take a riff from Janick [Gers] or Adrian and disappear for three or four days, and then he’ll resurface and go: ‘Right, I’ve three songs ready to go!’ The pressure he puts on himself is phenomenal, and he rises to the challenge every time.

My bets are on a new album in 2027, and a 50th anniversary tour in 2025. Historically, maiden do a best of tour after releasing a studio album and touring that album. This your might be a pretty long one too. My hunch also tells me they might release a compilation album given they’ll complete 50 years

Maybe they keep the tour name/concept, but change both the future AND the past albums? Like new album/seventh son for instance
They’re yet to do an AMOLAD live album so they might maybe tour that one. Maybe 5 songs from AMOLAD and some other classic album.

And your evidence for this is?

Yeah I thought so...
So Bruce did reveal in one of the interviews that they were gonna go do an 18th album but due to logistical issues of bringing everyone together and the unknown critical reception to Senjutsu made em stay put

i also think so...senjutsu was recorded in 2019...no way they not composed anything new in 5 years
Of course, they have material and write stuff all the time.

This is possible too (2026/2027 at the latest). I doubt there will be a compilation album, but who knows. I prefer a video album collection from all tours.

They have recorded shows from 2006/2007.

Yeah but that’s the entire album they played live and I doubt they’ll release that as a live album. Getting a feeling they’ll do another AMOLAD tour with maybe 5-6 songs off the album. Besides, they barely play any songs from that album live and that album requires further promotion.

I think a return to AMOLAD is unlikely, they've never really shown any interest in revisiting recent albums beyond the odd song surviving past it's album tour (Wickerman, BNW, DOD, FTGGOG)

Next year will be future past leg 2, same as the first leg.

I think there's a decent chance of a new album immediately afterwards (not guaranteed) with a tour to follow.

Maybe a greatest hits tour after that, provided no more medical disasters hit the band.
