Any US results yet?
Those usually aren't released until at least a week after the release date.

The only reason it didnt peak here is because of Justin Bieber. Fuck him.
How the fuck can he be charting above Maiden if he hasn't had a new album out recently? I know he's popular, but I find it hard to believe he's still selling that many copies every week.

I couldn't find any official source about how well TFF is fairing in Canada.
It went to #1 in Canada!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Maiden_discography FUCK YOU JUSTIN BOOBER!!!

However, if you click the 61, it brings you to this: http://inmusic.ca/news_and_features/the ... d/57b5283a is that just for HMV or does it represent Canada's album charts in general?

You need to update Canada. :)

What we can definitely be confident of at the moment, is that if a #1 debut in Canada is confirmed, the album will become Maiden's album with most debuts at #1 and that would be 4!

Yes for sure! Also, if you look at all the countries, you'll see each album since BNW either tying the last one or getting better. The only exception is AMOLAD in AUT. Since BNW, Maiden has gotten more popular EVERYWHERE! :yey:

Yeah I have noticed these number too. But now that I think of that, isn't it kind of a given?

The craziest number they have, I think, is AMOLAD going double platinum in India. Who could have expected that?

According to Travis, we may not know until tomorrow or Wednesday.  I'm hoping for #1, but early indicators point to #3.  Either way that's nuts.

It is certianly a big success for Maiden (and nice to see quality on to top the charts versus the flavor of the month).  For a band that has been around this long to be increasing their fan base is remarkable and a testament that their attitide of not being a "heritage act" is paying off.

Maiden got a little coverage on the BBC website after charting at #1:

Links to the BBC's own page on the band below - it mentions that the band has sold millions of albums without any real radio or tv support.  Nice to see the BBC acknowledging its own shortcomings, heh heh heh...  :D
Precisely what I was thinking. There's no reason for them not to play Iron Maiden (and a lot of other bands) on daytime radio, and the sales figures show that: three times as many albums sold last week than Eminem. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Iron Maiden are more "radio-friendly" than Eminem as they never sing about beating up ex-wives and don't need their songs censored. Apparently the playlist committee (sp?) at Radio 1 has really complex politics, or so Chris Moyles said one morning when asking his producer about the playlist. He also asked listeners to text in what they want on the Radio 1 playlist and Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Metallica came up several times so he asked why those bands never get airtime. I think the answer is that the UK music industry is specifically biased against Heavy Metal, and despite last week's albums sales leaving radio stations with egg on their faces that isn't going to change.

Yes and it is also very sad that this country that is so against Heavy Metal is the same one that actually helped create and shape it to what we all love today. -_-
