The essential bootlegs?

In notes on Ead666 it says explicitly "CD2 is not fake"

Wasn't the title of the instrumental supposed to be "Walking on Glass" instead? (which, mind you, has nothing to do with the fact it could be fake). But, "22AA" in 1986?

We could compare it with the 1984 Vienna bootleg. It looks like it came from that gig, but hearing it doesn't hurt.

Yeah, someone was into Nightwish I guess.

Where did the Walking on Glass title come from? Was it ever referred to that way by the band? The song they play in the solo is definitely Walking In the Air, so that makes more sense.

Gotcha, it makes the setlists on this particular tour even more diverse. This would be the only time 22 was played in '86-'87. I must say I'm not entirely convinced, even if the Ead666 site states it as not fake.

I just snooped on DC++, I can find three versions of the said boot; no 22AA there. Notes for boots 2 and 3 are same, but this three versions have been labeled as version 1, 2 and 4.

"Soundforge" with 44 100 Hz; 16 Bit; Stereo.

I hope this is info that you want, if not, don´t read it. :)

NOTE:

I can´t keep track of 1000 traders number on versions that they have,
this is MY second version, so I call it "VERSION 2".

About the recording, the sound on this one is really poor.
There are lots of cuts and some songs are nearly missing, like:
"The Number Of The Beast".
You ONLY take it due to the fact that it was early in the beginning
of the tour and they played some cool songs here.
I wish someone could dig up a good copy of this one.

Enjoy!!

Sounds like the bootleggers came up with that name then.

I'm going to listen to the last Killers show (Genghis at the Ruskin) tonight and then on to NOTB stuff. Just downloaded the stuff on your list + Reading.

Took a break after finishing with NOTB. Will come back to it later on, maybe in 2017. Don't want to burn myself out.

Bringing back this topic because I'm getting back into this. Before moving on to 1983, I'm going back to some of the earlier bootlegs I missed, starting with this:

RUSKIN ARMS '79 / RUSKIN ARMS 05.10.1979 / RUSKIN ARMS OCTOBER 10TH 1979 (Ruskin Arms, 5 October 1979).
Tony Parsons and Doug Sampson in the line-up. Interesting setlist and The Ides of March is played live!
No idea how I missed this the first time because it sounds really interesting. Looking forward to it.

@desultory and others, please keep the recommendations coming!

I have had this in my collection for years, and I can confirm it is a great show ;)

DMM stands for "Definitive Maiden Masters".

They were taped by Gig Addiction on the UK tours spanning 1983 through to 1990. His recordings are of great quality and worth seeking out.

I've got the complete list of the releases on this page of my site
http://www.tylisaari.com/misc/boots/other.htm#DIMM

They are definitely pleasing to listen to.

I would recommend
1986-12-18 Naples over 1986-12-16 Milano. Has much better sound and energy.

Ok. How far have you gotten? 1984 or so.

I'm starting 1983 tonight.

Last night I found an audio bootleg of the entire Dortmund show, something I didn't know existed (the commentary doesn't list it). Not sure what the source is since I'm at work but I'm looking forward to hearing it. Anyone know if video of the entire performance ever surfaced?

1983-05-06 Leicester - do not miss out on this one. Early on the tour, loose playing, great audience.
This almost sounds more like a performance that would take place toward the end of a tour IMO. They're already taking the songs at pretty high tempos and Bruce struggles. Fun gig though. I guess it can be seen as more of a warm up for the tour.

Thank you.

Sanctuary
Wrathchild
The Trooper
Revelations
Flight of Icarus
22 Acacia Avenue
The Number of the Beast
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Iron Maiden
Run To the Hills

And I was able to listen to some of it. Unfortunately it's a pretty poor quality audience recording. Only 3 songs that didn't originally air, but it would be nice to see an uncut version of this performance anyway.
