FFDP headlining over Megadeth is a choice.
Just looked up this Testament tour and BOTH Illinois dates are sold out. Bummer. If that wasn't enough, I also got tickets to see Testament, Exodus and Death Angel that Saturday after Priest x3! insane
That sucks. It's a great lineup. No local thrash bands to sit through (God bless), smaller venues (Austin looked about 500 capacity maybe).Just looked up this Testament tour and BOTH Illinois dates are sold out. Bummer.
Today is the day!I have a couple of things planned too.
July 30: Sonata Arctica, Turmion Kätilöt, Mokoma + more
July 31: Uriah Heep, Amorphis + more
August 15: Nightwish
It seems like this summer won't be wasted after all.
Concerts:
8/13/21 - Guns N' Roses @ Grizzly Stadium, Missoula, MT
10/2/21 - Judas Priest with Sabaton @ Angel of the Winds Arena, Everett, WA
11/4/21 - Dream Theater with Arch Echo @ The Paramount Theatre, Seattle, WA
4/16/22 - Deftones and Gojira @ The WAMU Theater, Seattle, WA
This will be my first Dream Theater concert now. Finally...
My Deftones show was moved to 2022 about a month ago. Oh well.. 2 more weeks until my first concert in over a year. I also learned a hard lesson. Book the hotel now if you're travelling. Apparently GNR has the ability to sell out every hotel in the city of Missoula, so now I get to stay at a hot springs 40 miles away.

Right from the middle of the front row.If you saw Amorphis I'm officially jealous
Saw Vranjković for the 3rd time in about 50 days and it might've been the best show I've ever seen in my life. It was absolutely flawless in every way. 3 hour show with 0 mistakes, and that was, according to him, a "shortened" setlist. Compared to the previous show, he started off with slower mellow stuff, then some heavier slower stuff, then ended in a fury with 6 fast songs in a row.Played for 2h 20min but it still felt short. He just has too many awesome songs. This time he avoided all the fast songs. Probably because at his last show at the same venue, he only played the faster stuff, which sucked for me, because I didn't listen to him back then. And also because audience would've trashed the venue as it's not made for moshpits. Either way, great show.
Was going to go to see Metallica playing in Louisville and Daytona Beach in the coming months, but with COVID exploding in those states and no testing/vaccine required for entry I've pulled the plug on those trips. Luckily, didn't buy any tickets to those. Will be going to their 40th Anniversary shows in San Fran in December though. Believe SF requires proof of vaccination to enter indoor events with over 5,000 people, so I'm covered there.
Fair enoughOh, the Green Day/Fall Out Boy/Weezer tour the last of my concern would be anything COVID-related.
I'm fully vaccinated as well, but I think I'll pass on the festivals and wait for my San Fran shows.
Ended up going to the Friday night of the festival as it turns out you did need to either have a negative test or be fully vaccinated to enter. Got there in time for Killswitch Engage and everyone on. What a weird Metallica set - no songs from the black album at all.Fair enough
