Back in early 2020 when I saw Priest was doing their 50 Heavy Metal Years US tour near me (New Hampshire at the time) I thought to myself, 'wow, wouldn't it be insane to follow them around for a few dates instead of just doing a one off to see them?'.
Well, here we are. I just bought tickets now, in 2021, to see them in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas. Still doesn't feel real. Seeing them in 2019 was one of the best shows (and experiences) of my life. To cap it all off, I'm taking my younger brother with me who loves Priest. We're making it a road trip. It's gonna be insane. I mean one of the best experiences of my entire life. October can't get here fast enough. And I know that week is gonna fly by so fast. This is the craziest thing I've ever decided to do.
If that wasn't enough, I also got tickets to see Testament, Exodus and Death Angel that Saturday after Priest x3! insane

That sucks. It's a great lineup. No local thrash bands to sit through (God bless), smaller venues (Austin looked about 500 capacity maybe).

My Deftones show was moved to 2022 about a month ago. Oh well.. 2 more weeks until my first concert in over a year. I also learned a hard lesson. Book the hotel now if you're travelling. Apparently GNR has the ability to sell out every hotel in the city of Missoula, so now I get to stay at a hot springs 40 miles away.

I got Davey Rimmer's bass pick and a signed thank you card from Tomi Joutsen at consecutive gigs. Not bad for one night I suppose.

Right from the middle of the front row.
Saw Vranjković for the 3rd time in about 50 days and it might've been the best show I've ever seen in my life. It was absolutely flawless in every way. 3 hour show with 0 mistakes, and that was, according to him, a "shortened" setlist. Compared to the previous show, he started off with slower mellow stuff, then some heavier slower stuff, then ended in a fury with 6 fast songs in a row.
It was a miniscule stage at a boat, but it just added to the experience. I don't think it's even a proper concert venue, it's more of a bar, considering the standing area has standing tables, but honestly... I kinda prefer it this way, as it prevents mosh pits and people throwing beer everywhere. First time in a while that I came home without someone spilling beer all over me.

Was going to go to see Metallica playing in Louisville and Daytona Beach in the coming months, but with COVID exploding in those states and no testing/vaccine required for entry I've pulled the plug on those trips. Luckily, didn't buy any tickets to those. Will be going to their 40th Anniversary shows in San Fran in December though. Believe SF requires proof of vaccination to enter indoor events with over 5,000 people, so I'm covered there.

I just came from vacation in Florida visiting family. I didn't get sick even though I was around many people.
I also went to see Green Day three weeks ago in Washington DC at Nationals Stadium with 40,000 people(90% without masks), didn't get sick either.
I'm fully vaccinated so I feel safe enough to go to a concert. It's all about following a healthy diet, boosting your immune system and getting vaxxed. Masks are kinda useless IMO.
I'll also be getting the booster shot in the coming months.

Ended up going to the Friday night of the festival as it turns out you did need to either have a negative test or be fully vaccinated to enter. Got there in time for Killswitch Engage and everyone on. What a weird Metallica set - no songs from the black album at all.
