Tool was amazing last night. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I don’t know who their sound guy is but Maiden should really start taking notes. I’ve seen Tool in an Amphitheater and a Stadium and both times the sound was crystal clear and easily the best I’ve ever heard.

Very good set too. I was little disappointed because they swapped Descending for Part of Me, and that’s one of the biggest downgrades in the history of downgrades. The rest of the new songs were good too! Especially Pneuma!!! The Pot was a very nice touch too.

Also, I’m now a fan of Tools “zero tolerance camera except for the last song” policy. I don’t like to watch the show through people’s iPhones.

Totally agreed on the sound and lack of Descending!

Re: sound, though, Maiden has twice as many
musicians on stage all playing competing frequencies. Tool has 4 people playing in different ranges and often 2-3 syncing up to create a more powerful sound. It’s probably not too hard to mix a band like Tool (other than making sure Maynard’s voice is loud enough) whereas Maiden must be a frequency nightmare.

That’s definitely a factor for the sound. Would also explain why Chevelle sounds just as good because they’re a 3 man band. My complaints with maiden is that if you’re on one side of the stage you can’t hear Dave or Janick solo. And a lot of times Bruce is so low in the mix.

Hello all, I figure I would update my concert schedule for the year. Things might get hectic (and I may not be able to make all these shows) but this is my current schedule:

1. Vader, Abysmal Dawn, Hideous Divinity, Vitriol, Desolate - Manchester, NH 02/15/20
2. Overkill, Exhorder, Demolition Hammer, M.O.D. ft. Billy Milano, Hydraform - Montclair, NJ 03/14/20
3. Possessed, Pestilence, The Black Moriah - Manchester, NH 03/31/20
4. Mayhem, Abbath - Boston, MA 04/06/20
5. Satan, Night Demon, Bewitcher, Haunt - Boston, MA 04/07/20

I have seen Celine Dion and British Lion so far this year... I worked as a hand held cameraman on stage for Boyz 2 Men, Counting Crows and Colt Ford recently.

I will see British Lion again next month, hopefully Dokken if they announce more dates since they are touring in their original line up for the first time in forever.

As I explained in the chat, Epica didn't happen due to low funding over Christmas and tickets being sold out by the time money came back. Sad!

Oct 12 - HammerFall feat. Beast in Black, Edge of Paradise @ Corona Theatre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Hammerfall was great last year in the states. Only 55 people showed up to their show here where they played in a bar.... :(

Looks like I won't be making it to Alter Bridge cause of my schedule the next day being a little too much for me to rationalize a 6 hour round trip to see them and being sleep deprived the next day. But I have bought Roger Waters tickets for a future fathers day gift so that adds another show to the list.

2020
  1. Sebastian Bach
  2. Alice Cooper w/ Lita Ford
  3. Journey w/ The Pretenders
  4. Ozzy Osbourne w/ Marilyn Manson
  5. Def Leppard and Motley Crue w/ Poison and Joan Jett
  6. Roger Waters
Potential Additions
  • Scorpions - Would be a celebration for grad which would be great seeing as Scorpions are one of my favourite bands
  • Aerosmith - Been trying to go see them in Vegas for a while, although it would likely have to be either Scorps or Aerosmith
  • Foreigner, Kansa, and Europe - Killer line up although it is a fairly long drive for the show.
Would love to add Queensryche, Dream Theater or Alter Bridge (back) into the line up for the year but currently the 3 don't have any shows close to me which I can attend. Hopefully they will do a Canadian tour soon.

About to buy tickets for KISS on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't even planning on going to this show (as I thought tickets were super expensive) but standing room next to the soundboard is only 74 USD!!! AAHHHHHHH

What made you decide to buy Motley Crue tickets?

What made you decide to buy Motley Crue tickets?

I've seen Def Lep 3 times, Poison and Joan Jett once each all 3 put on good shows so I figured it would be a good time regardless of of how well Vince can sing. Overall I suspect the band will perform well and be entertaining. Plus Lep is closing out the night so it will end pretty good.
