Oh, are we ranking concerts now? I can do that, let's see.

1. Iron Maiden @ Montreal - obviously. Iron Maiden in Montreal is the closest to a European atmosphere possible in North America. Plus the Aces High rendition was the best of the three times I've heard the song.
2. Iron Maiden @ Indianapolis - a close second! While Bruce wasn't quite as good in the beginning, he held up better throughout the night.
3. Demons & Wizards - Right back from the barrier, directly in front of Hansi, during a one-in-a-lifetime show, a show with a crowd hotter than hot, where the band rewarded it by playing the only extended set in all of North America? Uh yeah.
4. Sabaton - It's Sabaton, of course.
5. Gloryhammer - First headline show in Canada, crazy crowd in a small venue, and a fantastic setlist.
6. Kamelot - This one really surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. Kamelot impressed me a lot live. Battle Beast was a great opener too.
7. Alestorm - Hot show, tiny venue, crazy Christopher Bowes.
8. Battle Beast - First headline show in Canada, directly up front, tons of fun. Would see again.
9. HammerFall - The thing dragging this down was that it was a very, very long night.
10. Slayer - Slayer was pretty good, and maybe if the support was better it would be higher. Amon Amarth was super, though.
11. Striker - Fun show, especially at the price point. Great live act.
12. Kiss - The stage was awesome.
13. Ghost - Starting to get old at this point.
14. Def Leppard - It was a good show, but Tesla sucked and, well, it's Def Leppard.
15. Dream Theater - I learned I'm not a big DT fan regardless of the situation.

Fine I guess....

1. Iron Maiden @ Las Vegas. Best show of the tour for me. I had the most fun that night.
2. Iron Maiden @ Tacoma. FTTB. Would have been number one if I hadn't sustained bruised ribs and a nasty thigh cramp.
3. Iron Maiden @ Portland. Seats are good and all but I have a lot more fun in the pit.
4. Judas Priest. Very fun show. Some sound issues but it was very fun. Very cool concert too because of the torrential downpour that occured.
5. Guns N' Roses. Biggest surprise of the year. Lots of fun, and an amazing setlist. Slash was on fire all night. Tons of fun!
6. Mastodon. They played all of Crack the Skye so this was a must see show for me. Sound was spot on! It was the first concert I went to alone. So that was kind of weird.
7. Kiss. Fun show. Got to meet the band and was front row too. Good show overall.
8. UFO. Not the biggest fan of them but it was another fun night. I don't regret going.
9. Aerosmith. Same as above.
10. Billy Idol. Played for little over an hour. The band barely moved around the stage. Too many solos and breaks from the songs. Not to mention that awful acoustic version of White Wedding. Biggest positive was that I got a signed setlist.

You asked for it, so here you go.

1. The Raven Age - mindblowing, what a fucking amazing band. Setlist was jam packed with classics, the singer was amazing, the drums were pummeling, the audience was completely into it, what a fucking killer band. Shame about the old geezers following them though, really brought the mood down.

Just finished watching Accept (or is it the cover band that call themselves Accept?) for the 3rd time with Mark & Wolf sounded great but who blew me away was the drummer Christopher Williams! He is too good for Accept; he should be in a speed metal more complex band!

Philip did fine as new guitarist to accompany Wolf; he played the solo on Restless & Wild, and traded leads on No Regrets. The dual fast harmony on Fast As a Shark was impressive!

This is the 2nd time I have seen this tour, which promotes The Rise of Chaos, yet again they don't play the title track!

Ace Frehley was the headliner and though he seemed, at times, drunk or bored, he played GREAT during Shock Me and I love the setlist! Rocket Ride, She, Watching You, Parasite...all his best! I left during the solo so not sure what the last few were.

So last night I saw Periphery - opened by Astronoid and Plini - at the O2 Ritz in Manchester. I thought they were absolutely superb: Spencer's voice was really good sounding live, the songs translated really well into a live performance and the crowd was fantastic in regards to the moshing (although moshing was very difficult thanks to an extremely slippery floor). The setlist was good, a mix of hits and songs from the latest album Hail Stan, but it was surprisingly short - only 10 songs with the set lasting perhaps no longer than an hour. Astronoid were quite boring, but Plini entertained as each member has a huge amount of technical skill and treated us to multiple solos each. Overall a really enjoyable gig and good to get a break from uni (even if I did get stranded in Manchester afterwards:facepalm:)

The only gig I have confirmed coming up on the cards is Testament next March, but I'm still really tempted to buy a Municipal Waste ticket before they sell out.

The medium filters tend to filter out lower ranges than the higher filters.
I just got round to having a look at these and I won't be buying them. I've tried silicone earplugs at night before and I damaged one of them so that I couldn't get hold of it properly to remove from my ear. The earplug went too far in and I had a lot of trouble trying to remove it when I woke up in a bit of pain in the middle of the night. I eventually managed to use a pen to ease it out which is pretty dangerous.

Fair 'nuff. I don't find any problems with these ones, but it's all good.

Waiting for The Raven Age now! And then Shinedown! And then Alter Bridge.

So jealous! I wish I could witness such greatness. I hope they played “Grave of the Fireflies.” That song isn’t long enough, if they added about 4 more minutes it would be better.

I reckon The Raven Age are taking a break from touring next year to write their next album - that's why they're not on any of Iron Maiden's 2020 dates. Hopefully they'll do 'Grave of the Fireflies pt. II'.
