"The Book of Souls" - Official pre-release thread (CONTAINS ALBUM SPOILERS)

If something is officially released, just link straight to that. Seems the easiest way to me.

We come down hard on this because links to leaked Iron Maiden material on one of the most prominent Maiden sites on the net could become a sensitive matter.

One more point to clarify, because it came up in 2010...

If someone new to the forum, and possibly unaware of our rules, asks for a link or directions to a leak, the act of asking that question is not itself a bannable offense. Anyone who answers that question is in trouble. Please leave such posts for moderators to answer.

Anyone who is here now and thus aware of our rules who asks for a leak is in trouble. Likewise: if we see suggestions that someone is passing around links to the leak by PM, that person will get banned. We don't require proof; if things even look fishy, banhammer. There are no loopholes.

On the day the album leaks, posting even "PM me your email address" is a bannable offense. We all know what that email will be, and initiating that contact on our site is bannable.

OK, got it all for sure. Thanks for clearing everything up SMX. Good thing one of the youtube vids I posted thinking it was a new song was fake!

Maybe the thing about youtube should be added to the official rules just so everyone is clear on that. Or put up a stickied/pinned thread about leak rules. That way even noobs can't be given grace for asking for links and such.

True pirates won't come to this board for links. For us, the bare information that it has leaked is enough. I'm looking forward to listening before September.

Yarr!

Compared to 5 years ago, albums rarely actually leak... Usually someone gets them 2-3 days early and that's it. Before, albums could leak like a month before the release, but they've tightened the security on promo/review copies since.

I suppose its unlikely, but what are the odds Maiden stream the album before release? It has become a pretty common practice amongst a lot of modern bands.
Even if they do though, i'd probably only jam two or three songs at the most. Nothing beats blasting new material on decent car stereos while driving nowhere in particular.

Check this Eddie, supposedly it's the one for "Speed of Light"

No no no....This is a part of the new Maiden San Diego Comic con pop art posters. See my post in the "100.000 replies thread" and from the Maiden. com site the author says:

“Heavy music is a huge part of my life, and Iron Maiden is the band that has inspired me for decades so I could not imagine a better gig to work on! Based on the title of this new track I decided to create a flat colour image like the ones on the sides of old arcade machines. Of course it had to be bold, powerful, and it had to jump straight out at the viewer - so Eddie, once more, is coming to get you!”- Santi Casas

It's the artists vision of that track. Part of a exclusive Maiden inspired prints session. It's not an official single image or anything.

With the control panel, it looks more like it's inspired by the Wasted Years artwork. I doubt the artist knows anything about Speed of Light that we don't.

Sorry, you're going to ban people for even discussing the existence of a leak, or describing its content?
eDIT: sorry, see that it's covered earlier. You are just worried about posts that make it easy for people to access illegal content.

Curious, how much trouble did we get into during TFF?
I remember it being a madhouse.

The prints are officially licensed so I don't think it'd be too unlikely that they end up using that for single artwork.

Well, they're exclusive deals/licenses given to art publishers Acme Archives who gave the job of re-creating Eddie to 5 different artists.....each print limited to 250.

So I doubt that the Speed of Light print/or the artist doing that print is the official one they have in mind for the single...but who knows?! But Maiden or the management didn't handpick any of these artists. Acme Archives did.

Classic cox.

And yes, just to emphasize what was said before: no streaming links, no links to downloads, nothing, unless it's officially released by Iron Maiden. No sharing links, no PMing links. In the end, we don't have the resources to fight any sort of legal challenge here, and I don't want to even think about what'd happen.
