Oh I know. It's funny and all that. Just always thought the cowbell was a bit cheesy. I'm getting used to it on sol. But please let there be No more on the rest of TBOS.

Was listening to These Colors Dont Run last night and what an amazing riff that song has! The starting of that song gives me goosebumps every time. The "Every Breath You Take" like riff, the atmospheric synth, the beautiful underlying lead guitar truly encompasses the Iron Maiden i have followed since 1996 and grown up loving. If the Book of Souls contains at least one song of this calibre i would be happy.

Crazy I was just thinking hard about amolad...after talking about cowbells here a minute ago:
I really hope the rest of this new album leans back towards that dark beauty featuring songs like that,(tcdr)!!
I guess this cowbell is freaking me out a little. I want the band to have a good time and all, but I hope it doesn't stray to far. I'd take another amolad over another fotd.

Personally I think it would be pretty badass if Bruce whipped out a cowbell and played that part himself. :p

He is THE Bruce Dickinson after all. He wakes up,wears his pants and he makes gold records.

These Colours is very emotional. The instrumental part that kicks in right after the second chorus is something unique. It's a total shift in tempo and mood.
This and For the Greater Good of God are the two most emotional tracks on the album.

Janick's Ultimate Guitar interview is back online.

Great interview. Most of the stuff you read is just done by someone who hasn't got a clue, asking the same questions as everyone else. Aaaaand that's a big middle-finger to everyone who wanted them to do a polished record. 'Yeah we just rehearsed the song once or twice and then recorded it.'

Janick on Steve about The Book of Souls
He wanted a part to be longer so he put the chorus everywhere where originally I think it was only once
