This is a no brainer but I think we are guaranteed a live video/album from this tour. Besides the fact that the past 3 out of 4 albums have gotten the live recording treatment (and to be fair they intended to do it for AMOLAD as well) I think the band are going to be so excited to get on the road once Bruce is fully recovered they will want to document it. Plus the Mayan imagery is sure to make for a cool looking stage show. They seem very proud of this album and the critical consensus seems to be there are some very interesting songs on this album so it will be great to see and hear the tracks they choose to play live!
If we're not getting Empire of the Clouds live, I'm going to be hugely disappointed... I mean, pulling off an 18-minute track live seems to be such a natural next big thing for them and for everyone to talk about. This song is in the absolute centre of attention when it comes to The Book of Souls, so it would be shame to lose it on the upcoming tour. It can't be impossible to perform. I don't see much difference between playing an 18-minute track and playing a 13-minute track and a 5-minute track afterwards (but I might be ignorant at this point, I don't know).
I don't think that the supposed orchestration is an insuperable obstacle. They can simplify the lines (if there are multiple instruments playing simultaneously) and Kenney could perform from the backstage. I don't see Bruce playing piano on stage, though... He keeps repeating he's not a good pianist, so I imagine it would get pretty sloppy. Besides I can't help thinking it would look just too damn cheesy
But who knows, maybe after hearing the song it will become apparent it won't work live. It's hard to imagine, but we'll see in two weeks. As for the rest of The Book of Souls - If Eternity Should Fail obviously IS the opener, it's no contest.
Intro is the giveaway - it's going to be taped and the band will run onstage with the proper song kicking in, just as in the case of S15... TFF.
Besides, I think we're getting Speed of Light, The Book of Souls, one of the 5-6 minute songs and possibly Death or Glory. Since it's the second disc's opener, maybe it will be the first song of the encore? It's possible, but I think it's more likely that the main setlist will be all post-2000 and the encore will be all classics. I can think of two scenarios for The Red and the Black. If there will be no Empire of the Clouds, I'm quite sure it is going to be played as the epic of the new album. If Empire will be on the setlist, then The Red and the Black would be too much in my opinion.
I don't want to read too much of the songs' descriptions, so I will probably update or confirm my picks after hearing the album.
Now, the rest of the setlist... Of course I assume the tour is going to be post-2000 centred. I think we can expect some major drops in the classics. Out of the BNW songs played in 2010, Brave New World is the most likely to be featured now. Besides, maybe Ghost of the Navigator. I don't think we're going to get The Wicker Man. From Dance of Death it would be really cool to see Rainmaker. It is also hard to expect something different than Dance of Death or Paschendale instead. Of course there has to be something from AMoLaD, so I bet it's The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg. I expect The Final Frontier (I mean the title track) to return, probably along with Coming Home as the slower song on the first third of the setlist for everyone to catch a breath.
I'm looking forward to seeing many of the classics dropped... I'm fine with the absence of: The Trooper, Run to the Hills, The Number of the Beast, 2 Minutes to Midnight... I also think it's time for Fear of the Dark to have a break. However, I think HallowedBe Thy Name will be back this time (probably as the last song). There are some rather unlikely songs from the 80's I would really like to see. For example Prowler. I'd love to see it back on the setlist. Stranger In a Strange Land would be great too, but there's about 5% chance for that... It's not an encore song and I still bet the main setlist is going to be all new stuff. Anyway I think they will surprise us with something. Powerslave would be cool. Being ancient-themed it would fit the new stage production quite well. With the intro it could work great as the first song of the encore.
As for Blaze era I think there is not much to choose from. At this point the material is too epic-heavy to expect The Sign of the Cross or The Clansman. There is, however, a song that I would really like to see - Lord of the Flies. It's one of the best Maiden songs IMO and was amazing during the DoD tour. They should play it more often.
Okay, so here is my 'prediction'. I tried to keep balance between my dreams and what is actually possible:
1. If Eternity Should Fail
2. Speed of Light
3. Ghost of the Navigator
4. Coming Home
5. Rainmaker
6. Dance of Death /Paschendale
7. The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
8. The Final Frontier
9. The Book of Souls
10. Brave New World
11. (anything from TBoS shorter than 8 minutes)
12. Lord of the Flies
13. Empire of the Clouds /The Red and the Black(TRatB would probably be played earlier)
14. Iron Maiden
15. Powerslave
16. Prowler
17. Hallowed Be Thy Name
PS. I would bet on more classics if they haven't just finished Maiden England and since 2010 setlist happened, I think a full-on 2000's setlist is more than possible.

I don't think they will play "The Final Frontier" again because they tend to ignore past album title tracks when they promote a new album ("Fear of the Dark" and "TNOTB" being the exceptions, and "Killers" to a certain extent but back then -1982- it might have been because they considered they didn't have enough good material to fill the setlist. "Dance of Death" is still too "new" to classify I guess).
"Powerslave", "SSOASS" (until recent best-of tours), "Caught Somewhere in Time", "No Prayer For The Dying" were abandoned as soon as the next tour after their release.
Still, "rules" are made to be broken.
EDIT "Brave New World" was played on the Death on the Road tour, indeed.
Brave New World was played on the Dance of Death tour. I don't think they would play The Final Frontier if only for the fact that El Dorado was the single and what most people consider the better song. But who knows. After all these history tours, it's anybody's guess what they play
Bunch of same songs mixed in with 6 or 7 Book songs. I expect The Trooper, NoTB, Hallowed, Running Free, FotD and a bunch of other songs that have already been played in the last decade.
What about Brave New World? It was played on DoD tour (and later). Anyway, I tend to look at TFF not as the title track, but as a solid post-2000 rocker. I don't think it's lesss possible than it was for Wildest Dreams to apppear on 2010 setlist. We'll see, my prediction is definitely not superior to the others'
I don't put "Running Free" in the same basket as "Hallowed be thy dark trooper of the beast". I think the song hadn't been played from 1995 to 2008 and only reappeared in the 2010 post-reunion best-of shows.

If eternity should fail,Book of souls,Speed of light,Red and white,Death or Glory. And one strange song, maybe Killers, maybe flight of icarus or be quick or be dead.
Very fake. I don't think they've started rehearsing for the tour yet, especially considering that Bruce is still recovering. Also, I don't think they'd share the setlist with anyone.

On the "Behind The Beast" documentary for The Final Frontier tour, Adrian said that the band circulates a setlist between themselves a couple of weeks before they go to rehearsal.
So assuming that the tour starts in January/February, I expect they'll start sorting out a setlist around the end of this year, or into the start of January next year.
