TBOS Tour Predictions

True but there was a precedent: "Man on the Edge" "Sign of the Cross" ("Invaders" doesn't really count since it wasn't played at all, neither was it a single).

True, but the precedent is few and far between. Generally the band likes to open with the new album's first song.

Yep and as a matter of fact they all cried when Brucie left.

It's got a fan-base, certainly, but I'm hesitant to believe that there's a big enough interest to finance a tour of that era. Maybe a combo of the late Bruce/Blaze era materials, but I'm not sure it'd work.

Coming Home isn't a bad guess, I think. I could see that slotting in neatly. Why is everyone putting If Eternity Should Fail first? Since I heard Speed of Light was going to be the single I assumed that would go first, not least because it's going to get the most exposure, and from that perspective is a good opener.
Moonchild and Caught Somewhere In Time weren't singles. And I think the only times Maiden didn't open with the first song from the album were the tours for the first 2 albums, X Factor, and NOTB. Depending on what kind of song IESF is will depend on whether or not it makes a good opener.

Exactly. It could turn out that Speed of Light is a more obvious pick for the show opener, but generally Maiden albums open with the same song that the band will open up their shows on its tour. I actually think it's probably an intentional move on the band's part, though I don't have any serious evidence.

It's hard to say what they'll open with since we haven't heard IESF yet. However we do know one thing: Maiden always likes to start with a fast energetic opener. If IESF turns out to have a slow buildup or something like that then I think it'd be safe to assume that Speed of Light will be the opener.

The Final Frontier isn't exactly a fast song and that one opened up the last tour, so I'm guessing if If Eternity Should Fail is good enough to open the album that it'll be good enough to be the first song on the setlist.

Unless of course the intro to IESF can be played as a tape and then the band pops on stage when the song picks up.

Yea, although I hope it's a song they can play live in its entirety whether it's an opener or not. The Sat15/TFF thing was fun but they've done that already.

This.

The thing is that every opener except Invaders has been played. Theres a very good chance it will be played, but until we hear it, we can't be sure. In my opinion though, I think the song could have some similarities to DT's On the Backs of Angels. But that guess is just based on the title and the track length.

It will be very interesting to see what songs they choose to play alongside the new material for The Book of Souls touring cycle. Between the history tours and the reunion songs being highlighted on the first run of The Final Frontier tour they have covered everything but the 90's. Since they haven't played any Blaze songs since 2004 it would be nice if they would throw in at least one song from either The X Factor or Virtual XI. Other than that, who can say. Maybe they will bring back 22 Accacia Avenue or Children of the Damned (this one has been gotten some play over the past few years but it always feels like it's just here and there and not every stop of a tour gets it). I can't see Killers being played since they didn't do it on Maiden England or Early Days but I would be happy to be proven wrong. Other than that I can't really guess about any rarities that they might play. For all we know it might just be a simple new songs + staples tour since we have gotten so many theme tours recently.

I'd love to see a Blaze era tune show up again but I can't imagine it'll happen. It's been 12 years since the last time they did one and even that seemed kind of random.
