Subjects Bruce was wrong about or took his mouth too full

EggFest was caused by Bruce not shutting his mouth about Ozzy and the Osbournes show while on their stage. Sharon reacted like a child, but two wrongs don't make a right and all that.
With all due respect to Sharon (none), there's a distinct difference between someone running his mouth and possibly accurately poking the hornet's nest while on stage and hyped up on adrenaline, and deliberately sabotaging people trying to perform because you took so much offense at some snide remarks that you decided to craft an entire plan for the last date they were on and hired people specifically to help you with said plan because you're such a bitchmade cunt that you wouldn't even bother with your own dirty work.

e: And before somebody gets on my case over this one, I love Ozzy and I doubt he'd've managed half the things he did post-Sabbath without Sharon. I have respect for her work in that regard, but as a person she somehow has managed to make me sympathize with Bruce Dickinson in probably his worst running his mouth era in the 00s, which is saying something.

Quoting Bruce: “If I couldn't listen to Taylor Swift anymore I wouldn't care. I wouldn't care about all that stuff. It's an extra.
If all this disappeared, who would notice?

Thatmay be true for him personally, but in general it's total rubbish.
Ihave a few girls in my family and also extended family who are ‘Swifties’ - how they follow and analyse everything Taylor does! You can find it's cute or a bit over the top, but that it wouldn't matter if Taylor no longer was around – Bruce could not be further from the truth.

What did he say about the Osbournes with actual quotes please?

I've a few boots from this tour, haven't listened to them in a while, but from what I remember, there was certainly a lot of Bruce giving out about corporate stuff in the states, which he had done on many tours, and very little that I thought was expressly aimed at the Osbournes, and certainly nothing outright naming them.

One of the recent ones was "Adrian Smith had little to 0 importance in shaping Accident Of Birth's sound. In fact he only played a few solos."

...while he wrote and played one of the most popular songs and Roy stated multiple times that having Adrian around made him play better.
I also found it strange that he said that and somehow had the idea that he wanted to give an explanation, without explicitly addressing it, that Adrian didn't tour with him or at least appeared as a guest at some shows, something that many fans seemed quite convinced of.

Not really meaning to bring politics into the main Maiden forum, but I've gotten an absurdist kick out of Bruce supporting Brexit then moving to France.
I wish an interviewer had the guts to ask him a question about it, which should be fair as Bruce himself has confirmed in interviews that he still stands by Brexit, but then follow-up questions never come from the interviewer.
Not because someone should have a dig at Bruce, but I'd be honestly interested to know how he sees it, whether he's noticed how ironic it is.

If I look at the Bruce Dickinson thread: That you can make a comic about immortality and just have to put Bruce's name on it and it will be successful.
Is it so stupid/boring/???, because I thought it would be more successful, too.

I'm on the fence here. In a way, yes, Sharon's actions weren't unprovoked. They were childish and unprofessional, and, I'd say, disproportionate, but she didn't act without pretext.

On the other hand, I remember having a very strong aversion to the idea of Maiden touring with Ozzfest at the time. I felt that This was the wrong venue for them, and that supporting another band, even if it was Black Sabbath, was degrading. I've always wondered if Bruce felt the same way, and that this is what triggered his rants. Earlier that year, Maiden had sold out major venues in Europe such as Ullevi and Parc de Princes, and headlined Rock am Ring, and now they were being forced into the Ozzfest corset. Maybe it was the right move business-wise, but maybe that's also what upset Bruce, that Maiden's status was determined by corporate considerations. I remember ranting all day when I lost my own office and got moved to a desk in the basement once, this sort of thing hurts.

Yeah, I also think it was a managment mistake.

But it needs to be said that Maiden were saving Ozzfest's arses too. The unreliability of Sabbath resulted in Maiden playing numerous full shows, playing basically the whole European set minust Driter, Remember Tomorrow and Where Eagles Dare.
