They need to give us another album with great short singles and a few great epics like BNW did. TFF was a bunch of long, slow epics and Dance of Death was too. AMOLAD was a great album with some great tracks that had power and speed. Brave New World was the best of the reunion albums for having a mixture of both but the epics were great.

I get you, SirRobbins. Personally i think the new album will be very surprising either way... on one hand, if they go even more progressive, it will be susprising in itself, just to see how they pull it off and if the songs remain "slow" or go faster. On the other hand, even if they do take a step back (last time they "regressed" was on No prayer for the dying) that would still be surprising since it would be the opposite of their musical progression over the last albums.
therefore, and since maiden is a band that just loves to improve, i think this new album will really be something very special. The premise is already cool in itself!

I want Maiden to go super, ultra progressive and give us their version of Dream Theater. That could depend on how limited in their creativity they are. What would be really, super, extra sweet would be a double CD. The first disc be all 7+ minute progressive stuff with at least one song being over 15 minutes and the second disc be all shorter songs. I'd even be willing to wait another year or 2 if they did something like that. I know it's VERY unlikely that they won't, but it's nice to dream.
