Songs you want Maiden to cover.

Ho-Lee-crap!!  Thanx for the heads up.  That is awesome!  Just as I pictured it in my minds ear!!  Bruce almighty!!

Since the lads seem to be fond of seafarin' tunes, I think it would be fucking cool if they did a cover of "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". I'm not kidding. I've played versions of this with wah and heavy distortion that sound pretty cool. Maiden could make it epic...

The Alestorm cover of Barrett's Privateers is epic. Gonna listen to that now, because I am drunk.

I had no idea there was a metal cover of this masterpiece... it sounds a lot more like my version than Gordon Lightfoot's... it's very good!

Simon and Garfunkel's the Boxer, because it should be all about a completely different take on a great song.

That song already is epic. B)

Never heard the Panzer version before... sounds very good, I like it.

All Canadian folk music is epic. It's just how it is.
I stand corrected. In no way was I minimizing Gordon Lightfoot's original recording. I think I like the Jag Panzer version even better though. A Maiden version would be the peak of epicness.

The song was just built to be played by three guitars, I agree. The Jag Panzer cover is fantastic, of course.

Another Canadian classic I think the boys could do real justice to is an old April Wine song called Weeping Widow. I've loved this tune for decades... pretty simple riff, but a Maiden version would be able to work well with it. April Wine was one of my first concerts... Harder...Faster in 1979 or so. Another 3 guitar band, and unfortunately relatively unknown outside of Canada.

Just played my part of the world in April.
Just Myles Goodwin and one of the guitarists left from their '70s heyday.
And Willow would be a good Maiden cover.
