Simon Dawson is the new drummer

AMLOAD is actually an unmastered mix. And somehow sounds better than brickwalled DOD.

But yeah.
I'd say it sounds more organic than DoD and especially the drums sound great. Otherwise IMO DoD has better production if you can get past the mastering - the guitar sound is among the heaviest and best in their discography.

I can't listen to the studio version of DOD tracks. 0 dynamics.

Each to their own.

Yeah it was mastered in 2015, I think the 2015 CD masterings are the same as the ones that were done for apple music the previous year, I think by Tony Newton. The LP masterings are done by a different guy I think

I remember from Kevin’s diaries there was a Mastering took place in New York by George Marino that Steve chose not to use. Wasn’t this version used in 2015?

66 or 67.

This is my biggest issue with the appointment. They could have found a drummer who could have extended their careers with 10 years. Instead it feels like a 3-5 year solution.
Would we really want them to be on stage when they are closer to 80 than 70?

I'd like to see them go on for as long as they are all capable and healthy. But I would at least like to see after RFYL a new album tour and then a "farewell" tour, if that's the case.

Irrelevant. The only ones who can say whether or not they want to be playing at 70 are themselves.
Well duh, no one here has the power to decide when they retire. But they ain't getting any younger and I don't think they planned to go on 10 more years even before Nicko retired from touring
