SCORPIONS ANNOUNCE NEW STUDIO ALBUM “ROCK BELIEVER” & 2022 WORLD TOUR
INCLUDING LAS VEGAS RESIDENCY + SIX SHOWS IN GERMANY
BAND CELEBRATING 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM
Legendary rockers Scorpions return with a new album and full World Tour next year! Scorpions will release their 19th studio album “Rock Believer'' in February 2022 and will immediately embark on a world tour following the release. The band spent much of the pandemic together in their hometown studio in Hannover, Germany bringing out the genre-defining energy that made them what they are and coming up with a full set of future classics. “The album was written and recorded in the style of the classic Scorpions DNA with core Schenker/Meine compositions. We really went back to the essence of what defined us in the first place”, says front-man Klaus Meine. He goes on to explain how the new songs came to have such incredible, fresh energy and fervor: “We recorded the album as a band, live, in one room, like we did back in the Eighties. We can’t wait to get started and finally play for our fans again.” Ex-Mötorhead drummer Mikkey Dee rounded out and completed, for the first time, the legendary Scorpions sound. The sound of the new album has massive energy, delivers a real adrenaline rush and shows uncompromising quality. It leaves absolutely no doubt what kind of power the rock legends still bring to the table and will undoubtedly deliver on the road.
2022 is set to be a monumental year for the band. 50 years ago, on January 22nd, 1972, Scorpions released their acclaimed debut album and launched an unparalleled international career. They will celebrate this milestone with the world by delivering a phenomenal new album and bringing people back together at their shows. “Rock Believer” will be released on February 11th, 2022 with its first single, “Peacemaker” coming at the end of October.
Scorpions will kick off their “Rock Believer” world tour with a Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino residency in Las Vegas, from March 26 - April 16, 2022. Afterwards they’ll cross the Atlantic headed for Europe where they’ll play some of the biggest venues on the continent, including the Accor Arena in Paris and six arena shows in Germany. There will be shows across nine European countries total. "We had so much energy and fun recording the album and we can’t wait to finally play live again," says Matthias Jabs. Klaus Meine elaborates on the past year-and-a-half: "We have never had such a long touring break as we had during the pandemic. That of course increased our appetite, so we are looking forward now to going back on tour again”.
Scorpions founder and guitarist Rudolf Schenker speaks fondly about the upcoming year: “The prospect of rocking with my bandmates in front of hundreds of thousands of fans next year and presenting them our new album is already giving me goosebumps. This album and the upcoming world tour will also be something very special in our career”.
Scorpions are not only Germany’s number one rock band but one of the most important rock bands in the world. Not only did they define Classic Rock, to date Scorpions have sold over 120 million records, played over 5000 concerts and created many timeless classics, including the legendary single "Wind Of Change", one of the best-selling singles of all time that became synonymous with a watershed moment in history. Countless awards, a spot on the RockWalk of Fame in Hollywood, and other genre-defining classics such as “No One Like You”, "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "Still Loving You" and many more are part of their undeniable legacy. The new album "Rock Believer" will be released on February 11, 2022. Pre-Order of the “Rock Believer” album will start in October.
Supporting Scorpions on the German leg of their tour is Wolfgang Van Halen, son of the iconic Eddie Van Halen, with his band Mammoth WVH.
