Changing the setlist would be a wise move in the context of the French gig, which is supposed to be filmed and later released as the (potentially) last Iron Maiden DVD.
Look, the current setlist is fine, especially for the newer fans... But at the same time, it's very similar to Flight 666. For now, 12 of the 17 tracks from its tracklist are our setlist. Considering the fact that what they film in a few weeks could be the last profesionally documented concert by Maiden, I'd definitely prefer it to have its own "personality". Of course, when it comes to the visual aspect, it's gonna be very different than F666 because of the production they're using on the tour now, but I'm talking strictly about the music itself.
I'm not talking about big changes - adding 2 songs that didn't appear on F666 would be good enough.
When you look at their 00s live albums, you notice that they were all very different from each other. Rock in Rio includes 2 big Blaze songs, the BNW material + the classics, then Death on the Road obviously focuses on DoD, but also includes Lord of the Flies and Can I Play With Madness?, Flight 666 is filled with the hits and some songs that weren't released on the previous live albums. And that's a great thing. It used to be a standard. KISS did the same in the 70s (IIRC, no song from Alive! appears on their second live album). Unleashed in the East and Priest... Live! are totally different records, even Live After Death and Maiden England don't have much in common.
I'd really like the future DVD/live album to feel like a really fresh thing.
