Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026 Rumours and Speculation

They literally had a promotion giving away tickets for $66.66 in 2016 to push sales,
I think it was just for the 2nd Sydney show, sure as hell not for NZ.

and in 2024 for the first time decided not to play Christchurch and do a solo show, the popularity isn't there
The fact they played one show instead of two has nothing to do with the popularity, as the time before that they sold out both shows in advance (although the boxscore for one of the two was extremely low and not sold out, but it happens from time to time, probably a lot of guests that they didn't remove from the total cap number).

Again, I'm not saying they're going to do a stadium, but it would make more sense to do that in NZ instead than in some AU markets.

If they play there (who knows, they might skip it altogether and just go to Japan), I'm sure something will change from the usual route. Arenas shows are probably not enough to justify a coming down there anymore.

Nah they would do arena tours in australlia.
I highly doubt a full arena tour can justify the costs of going down there. If you take in account that they just visited it (more or less) and that Foo Fighters will rob them of several thousands tickets, then it's not that impossible that they scrapped the idea.

I think FF audience and Maiden's are different ones. FF attracts mostly the casuals who aren't into metal and Maiden at all. If they don't book Oceania at all and skip that to play just Japan, it would not be the best idea from an economic point of view. However, they will play different territories in Asia, including India, instead of Oceania. Eventually, the whole tour might end in Santiago - I wouldn't be surprised if so.

Is there really much overlap between the Foos and Maiden audience? Two bands can tour the same country at the same time. Aus is a big place.
I remember 2017 when Maiden toured North America, the same period when Metallica did Worldwired Tour in NA. Both tours were successful.

Why is this an issue at all? There are always big bands like Maiden out touring, this goes to all continents. It does not affect sales for each other, just a little fraction

Not for Oceania. Less people, less international acts.
And there's another option. Maybe they will start in Asia/India and finish the tour in December as the headliner of Good Things Festivals in Australia. With an optional schedule, the leg could include some 10-12 shows, including the Australian fest.
