Run For Your Lives World Tour 2026 Rumours and Speculation

Heavy metal universe i want out gardens of the sinner and send me a sign or new world order leaving somewhere out in space....
So your critique is "man, they didn't play the exact song I wanted". Come on. This is a hit-ridden setlist. They were the support band. Saying it's a bad setlist is just ridiculous.

No no, they play one version and the worst song of powerplant and they skip the whole album of Sois

I always will say it. Maiden has done a very good job since 1999 with the setlist. And because of that now there are only a few surprises to be done if you want to change the setlist because the have revisit all yheir catalogur
I agree. Some of the comments after the RFYL set were ridiculous. A set that includes Phantom, 7th Son, Powerslave, Rime and a few early cuts that haven't been played for years. What more do people want?

I always thought that an EddFest would be a good idea, but I'm not that hyped with this announcement. It's just like a more expensive regular show. It's not really a festival. The support bands could be Maiden support bands at a regular show. The setlist will be the same (99%). It's just that museum. Literally no reason to camp there from Friday.
They should have organised that better. They should have played both nights with different setlists. The support acts should be at least something like Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Saxon, Megadeth. I don't think heavier and newer bands would fit well with Maiden. I think the vibe should be 70s-80s for this one. Scorpions had Priest and Alice and Maiden have Darkness and the Hu. It's a huge gap.

My guess would be they want just the opposite of what ever they get just so they can have a moan :D

Knebworth might well not be perfect but i guess the 50k or so fans that will turn up and have a good time would suggest it isn`t all as doom and gloom as the few on here would have us believe.

Im sure for those that go it will be a great experience. It's just not for me this time around.

You don't have to do a whole rebrand if it's not doom and gloom.

The setlist for the Run for Your Lives tour is great. I would have swapped some songs (Aces High being the most obvious one) for other classics that I prefer, but the set was filled with crowd pleasers.

It's the old thing you can't please all of the people all of time but I think Maiden have done a good job mixing up the set over the last 20yrs. Wede like to hear few different songs here and there, infinite dreams anyone? But I thought the RFYL set was great. Plenty to please and Rime and 7th Son in the same set was a dream for me.

I remember some (rare) examples of support bands that got the Maiden audience going: Helloween in 1996 and 1998 (in the latter show they were arguably better than Maiden), Megadeth in 1999, and Gamma Ray in 2003.
Megadeth were dogshit in '99. I had to sit through them twice and the crowd were completely indifferent both times.

Slayer in 2000, Halford in 2001 and Killswitch in 2018 come to mind when thinking of good support.

And Queensryche as well during the BNW tour. Probably the best Heavy Metal concert lineup ever. Queensryche, Halford and Maiden, all in tip-top shape.

(Though Heaven & Hell, Motörhead and Priest were a hell of a bill too)

It comes back to the whole " its all about the kids" argument from Rod. With all respect fuck the kids. 70% of the fans and the ones who spend a lot of cash on Maiden are balding oldies with their jeans halfway down their crack like me. And most of us want to see legendary 70's and 80's bands

Back then, Rod managed the Halford band, and I think Queensryche were on the Sanctuary label.

Video teaser for the EddFest. Looks cool if it's built like this. SIT walk-on Eddie? The museum stuff? RFYL Eddie looks really good.

And some fans praise (and cool footage) for the new stage show.

Maybe, but we don't know the facts. Maybe they've waited to prepare the ultimate proposition for the fans as the very special event called Ed Fest. BTW, what do you think the current ticket sales for Knebworth could be at? 25/30k? ::)

Funnily enough, they had that one on display at the British Museum Experience exhibition at the O2 Arena back in 2011 before the Maiden gigs there.

The exhibition closed in 2014 and later relocated to Liverpool (https://www.britishmusicexperience.com/), where I got to see the SIT walk-on Eddie again before Maiden's gig in 2017! They also had a Trooper jacket worn by Bruce on display.
