There were a lot less people than that, but that was 16 years agoIn 2009, Iron Maiden played in Chile at Club Hippico, - 65k people in attendance; they could easily do the same, even at the same outdoor venue.

There is always a reason the most of us will never know or understand. But I have always trusted maiden that its good reason. Its ridiculous man, maiden should just announce already their dates. Its difficult for people to plan their trips especially if they are not from that particular country or region if they announce the tour closer to the actual dates.
True but the future past tour was planned so well and tour dates was announced way ahead. There is always a reason the most of us will never know or understand. But I have always trusted maiden that its good reason.
I wonder if there is a International act bigger than Maiden in Chile.
I checked WikipediaI imagine there are a few...
Man, those ones are pop/dance acts not even hard rock.I checked Wikipedia
Coldplay and Madonna have had higher attendances on the same visit in 2022 and 2008 than Maiden in 2024. Plus some artists from Puerto Rico and Colombia.

Completely different audiences in terms of scale and popularity. We can compare IM attendances with those of other hard rock/metal acts, but not with pop megastars like Coldplay or Ed Sheeran. It's obvious. So what?

Maiden and Metallica are definitely neck and neck in ticket sales, Maiden sold more tickets than Metallica last year alone. SOAD will always sell out in seconds since they rarely play showsFair enough, although the original question was about international acts.
If we focus on rock, can we compare them to the attendances achieved by local rock bands like Los Prisioneros and Los Bunkers?

Totally not trueMaiden and Metallica are definitely neck and neck in ticket sales, Maiden sold more tickets than Metallica last year alone.
I didn’t mean in general but lately I feel like Maiden has been selling more tickets because more shows, same size venues around and the tour.Totally not true
Who cares, the music really matters!

Yeah it's all over for Maiden. If they can't sell as many tickets as Taylor Swift then what even is the point? Rod clearly doesn't understand the touring business.
Maybe not quite, but Maiden has closed the ticket sale gap with Metallica really well, I guess in most places except USA. Some markets Maiden may be neck and neck or even better.Maiden and Metallica are definitely neck and neck in ticket sales, Maiden sold more tickets than Metallica last year alone. I dont see any market where Maiden is selling more tickets. Metallica is doing mostly stadium and open air shows last few years.
OK, but Iron Maiden are playing more concerts (generally), and you must realize Metallica doubled the shows with 80% the same people in the audience both nights! This could be called a monopolization strategy in the concert markets (money-grabbing anyway). The final results are fewer shows, more big venues, and more people, just because of their strategy to sell two shows at the same stadium(s) to the same people and even give them "free CDs".I dont see any market where Maiden is selling more tickets.
