RUN FOR YOUR LIVES WORLD TOUR (2025/2026)

Thankyou for post this. We should do a topic with all the iron maiden bloopers( i dont know if that its the word. Very good this one iloved nicko starting the tropper and all the band next to the drum kit . And adrian playing wasted years and bruce behind thr stage i imagine dressing like the trooper saying to fucking check his eyes
There is one, burried somewhere. Iron Maiden stage mishaps or something like that.

Different tour, but speaking of mistakes, I think the first date of 2009 (3rd leg of Somewhere Back In Time Tour) Belgrade, Serbia is one of kind later career show:
-Adrian starts 2 Minutes To Midnight instead of Wrathchild, the band carries on.
-Nicko randomly counts The Trooper in (21:10). Band reactions are hillarious. Then he proceeds to mess up Phantom Of The Opera at 22:20.
-And my favourite, Adrian starts playing Wasted Years instead of Trooper. Bruce tells him to get his eyes ****ing checked (28:45).
-after Hallowed Be Thy Name, Bruce thinks it's the end of the show. He says goodnight, see you later, while the band just stands there like, WTF is he doing?
After he gave so much **** to Nicko and Adrian during the show, he ****ed up in the end too.
Hallowed Be Thy Name was the last song of the set on the previous years leg of the tour, that's why Bruce must have thought that it was the last song of the evening.

How many times do I have to say that Maiden HAVE NEVER BEEN UNDER-REHEARSED AT THE START OF A TOUR????

What is wrong with you lot? Posers, not real fans, that’s what you are.

Someone suggested opening with Phantom of the Opera which is an idea I absolutely love.
The more I think about it, the more I want Phantom of the Opera as the opener. I think it would work really well. The song has enough pace and intensity to be the opener, and plenty of drama and possible theatrics. Phantom walk-on Eddie could also appear.

I am at least leaning towards the song being one of the 2-3 first songs.

I can imagine Bruce doing his speech in the instrumental. “Welcome to the Run for your lives tour!’

Hallowed won't be in the middle of the set, it will probably be before IM or encore and it works better there. They did Seventh Son in 2012-14 and they used Scribe Eddie for that. That's what I meant. Powerslave wasn't really central epic (the main epic) on SBIT or BOS tour (they didn't use the front cover theme on the latter) and it won't be now. Powerslave is also an epic that will go well with casual fans, it's a constant gallop. Rime should be the choice. Powerslave and Phantom are like semi-epics.
Hallowed near the end of the set, yes (what about Daughter, btw?), then - Rime, it, Phantom, Infinite and Seventh Son/Powerslave/Land. They used Scribe Eddie in 2012-14 because they had the stage for the icy theme (and for something different, this Eddie is as strong as for an album cover). You're right, Powerslave wasn't a main epic, but the 2008 stage show was. I think the best choice is to play Land, something different. How popular it is among the casual fans? Powersalve is as popular as Phantom and Hallowed.

Playing Seventh Son again would make the ME tour even more undervalued. I wouldn't say the same for Rime.
What will blow the stadium audience’s minds will not be what will blow our minds.
Yeah, but Bruce mentioned that we wouldn't believe they are playing those songs, so it can't be just the big hits.
With that said, chronological could be really cool and work in a way that appeals to casuals and hardcore fans alike. It also allows the band to pace out something that sprinkles in the hits in a logical way.
I feel chronological order wouldn't work that well because some of the hits will be played early (Hallowed early?). Rime will be in the middle of the set, most likely. Reverse chronological, I can't see it.
For what the band is advertising, I feel like it's a sufficiently mind blowing opening run of songs.
Wow, I think they can do a lot better than that. If you want mind blowing for the casual fans, songs like Phantom (definitely an early song in the set), Trooper, Hallowed, Number, Wrathchild, Evil/2 Minutes/Aces are the stuff, right.
Sanctuary would also be a good opener, the riff played in the silence and darkness and with a bang all the band members are suddenly on stage and in the middle of it, similar to 2000 when Adrian first entered the stage alone and played Wicker Man.
I don't think Sanctuary is a good opener. Yeah, it's fast and has crowd participation moments, but some songs are just right for encores.
Chronological does have its problems too on that front since there's not that many candidates for pleasant surprises in the first batch, Killers is probably the biggest, most obvious one and I'm not sure even the stadium audience would get blown away by that.
True. About Killers, I think it's pretty popular from the early era and was featured on the ME video.
If they play Be Quick or Be Dead, Infinite Dreams, and Killers, that would be enough to satisfy me.
These are exactly 3 opening songs (and we have room for more in 30min.) which fit Bruce's words.
There’s also Evil That Men Do, which has been out of commission for an uncharacteristically long time for them. I’m choosing to believe the Infinite Dreams hype with the logic that they won’t play many songs from the late 80s/early 90s, but that could be the most fertile ground for a left field deep cut as pretty much anything off the first four is going to be well known by casuals. So I can see some latter period hits not making the cut.
Evil or Clairvoyant, or both, if they don't play Seventh Son. Infinite Dreams is a deep cut with some chances. SSOASS album has a lot of candidates, so if they play only 2 songs from the other albums (minus TNOTB ), it's possible. With the right chosen songs and length of the set, everything is possible. Another song from the first 2 albums can/will take one of SIT's spots.

Yeah, Phantom could have a noticeable opening effects and theatrics. It, Be Quick or Trooper are my choices for the perfect openers for this tour.

Btw, Pooch has attached Running Free to his post about the rehearsals. I really hope they won't play it or Sanctuary after 10+ years. It's enough of them.

It's a song or two lengthier than it should be, me thinks. It should be about 100mins + Bruce's speeches and everything. That being said, I believe you will get almost all of them right. Maybe 2 minutes is Aces High, maybe there are only 2 Powerslave songs, maybe BQOBD isn't there, maybe they'll play more songs off SSOASS, but you'll get 14-15 songs right imo.

It's getting neared and Im getting a bit hyped.
It will be interesting and exciting to see Maiden again, as this is almost yearly tradition.
Now I can deal with anything, but I seriously hope to hear Infinite Dreams live, as you know it's my absolute favorite song ever by anybody.
Infinite Dreams is my all time favourite song too. We have a fair shot at hearing it this tour I hope.
