Well, they had also played Die With Your Boots On and Revelations which were deeper cuts as well. Since those were more limited tour itineraries compared to 2008 and later I don’t think repeating songs would be that big a deal. Plus Number of the Beast was the only album in 2005 not to see any real deep cuts, just the usual big 3.

Well yeah, but don't you think it would've been a little excessive to play three deep cuts that were already played on the previous non-album tour they did? I'm almost certain there were people complaining about DWYBO and Revelations already, subbing 22AA with something from the actual early days seems like a logical move to me to keep things interesting.

Plus, I think the PoM songs that got chosen were really the only ones that they were willing to touch. Flight of Icarus got dropped in '86 and they'd avoided it since (not to mention the whole tempo disagreement thing) and I don't think they actually like Still Life or TTAL that much, since they've been MIA since a limited set of shows in '88 and '83 respectively. WED at least appeared a few times in the 90s.

Frankly I think complaining about any of the setlist choices from 2008 and earlier is kinda unreasonable. Most of the songs were last played in the 80s, with a fair amount frequently being dropped from the North American tours back in the day (a market the band was clearly trying to re-establish itself in during the early reunion. Revelations feels overplayed now but I want to say at the time it had only been on two or three complete tours prior. Same with 22 Acacia Ave.

To the point of 22 Acacia vs a different deep cut, that I can agree with although like I said Number of the Beast was the only album on Early Days that didn’t get the deep cut treatment, so I think something off that album still would have been more appropriate than Charlotte.

I do generally agree with that. However I do also know there was a lot of gnashing of teeth in newsgroups back in 2003 when the Dance of Death tour's setlist got posted after the first show, because "they're playing the same old songs every tour like CIPWM" which of course hadn't been played in ten years at that point. Not to mention Lord of the Flies randomly getting resurrected.

2005's set probably should've appeased that crowd, but I'm almost positive there were still people going "why no Killers? where's Flight of Icarus? play The Prisoner instead of RTTH again!" Although ironically now that I said that, I remembered people had complaints about 22AA appearing in the stage design despite not being played, but that might just be something that only started later after it fell into the never getting played again pile.

Never saw Maiden in Poland yet. Though it's not far travel, I'm Germany based.
In 2005 I saw them in Ullevii, Leipzig, Prague, Bospop Netherlands, Zürich, Paris and Dublin. The Ireland gig comes with a great memory too cause that day I met the entire band and had a chance talking to all six of them. The girl I travelled with, an affair from Sweden I got to know via the old forum, was making jokes of me when I told her I knew which hotel the band stayed at, coming up with the idea to wait there, so she preferred going to some pub and drinking with a bunch of other fans, but in the end I was lucky :D And they were not. :D

2014, 2010, 2005, 2000, 1998 (two songs), 1986, 1984 (if we count BITV), 1981 (Strange World) and probably some changes during the 1980 tour.

But yea outside that setlist change, rotating Fallen Angel and The Mercenary in 2000, and the infamous dropping of Paschendale/BTATS back in 2010, it isn’t like Maiden makes a whole a lot of late game setlist adjustments. I also get the feeling that with stuff getting posted more reliably on the internet, they try not to deviate too much from what fans see opening night since the stage show also tends to be more static. Plus the last few tours they post the setlist on their own social media channels as well, so it feels more written in stone at that point.

Agreed, but at the same time they still played Revelations (not overplayed at the time) and even Boots. Deep cuts for that time. I think during that period (2003-2005) they wanted to play as much different old songs as possible. Killers and probably Children were more expected back then.

Should we expect to hear (or see photos of the production wow, of the band members, yes) something from the rehearsals again, like last year with Alexander and some others? Maybe not this time, it was rare what happened last year, so let's see.

I believe Die With Your Boots On will be there, it's one of those deep cuts written by three members, not being played since Early Days tour, have a happy and sparkle vibe and a positive message which can be see as an allegory to the ongoing ambition of one of the most touring bands ever.

I also believe that the Slaughter is for there for sure. It's their only no1 song. I was expecting that one to be played at Bruce's solo tour. But he didn't. So I believe they saved it for this tour.

Total Eclipse and Gangland no way. Love the second but hope they don't play it. Since they added Afraid to the Maiden England tour, I don't think they'll play it this time. But who knows...

Probably next week. Those photos have become a trend in the past years.

Him to use such theatrics for his solo tour? And play more Maiden songs than 1 (rotation or one off)? His potential hint about the song was a bit vague, because maybe he meant all stage clothes, who knows. I must say, Powerslave wouldn't be the best fit for this tour (after the 2008 tour and being played fairly recently), Rime is a special song, but if they want to use the album cover theme live, then it would be it. The other option is To Tame A Land.
