RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

On a press release-related note, Rod’s mention of not getting radio play back in the day makes me cringe. Maiden were played on MTV and many (mainstream) radio stations during their 80s heyday. Not as often as some big non-metal bands, but I definitely remember hearing Maiden songs on the radio in the late 80s.
That is certainly not how i remember it, i had to listen to the Friday Rock Show with the legendary Tommy Vance to get any decent metal on the radio. I think most people would agree with the sentiment that Maiden like many British metal bands didn`t get much radio play back in the day. A bit of TV play yes, MTV & TOTP but that isn`t radio.
'compelling points' that are very likely statements of the obvious.
I'll never understand why channels like this become fonts of wisdom, they know nothing more than any of us.
Agreed, and given how much they hated the show this year i couldn`t really be bothered to listen to their take on it this time.

I think too much is being read in to the 2027 comment, it clearly says a well earned break which to me implies a return afterwards in some form or other, if everyone is in good health obviously in 3 years time.

These could be for Milton Keys concert, what is the capacity, around 60,000? What are opinions about that?
London Stadium last year was larger by itself and that wasn't even the only UK date, for this to be hyped up in this way it has to be an 'Edfest' at a large outdoor location like Knebworth.

Download Festival can also be ruled out I expect, as I believe they have exclusivity clauses for their headliners meaning they cannot play shows in the UK in the surrounding months.

Some German media are reporting that Iron Maiden will only be giving one concert in Germany in 2026.
Others are reporting that they will be giving only one stadium concert. I would say that the latter is closer to the truth.

It is true that they did not get the radio play time than Guns N’Roses or Metallica would get in the early 90s, but you could hear Iron Maiden songs played on Los 40 Principales in Spain in the late 80s and it does not get any more mainstream than that.
I dont listen to 40 principales. I was into discocross mighty mariano

So in the lastest Capnharris video, they speculate that this might be the final world tour, and the "no touring" year in 2027 is the indicator that the band might be done and turn into Slayer etc, with just random appearances throughout the years at festivals.. I hadn't really thought about it in this way, but they make some compelling points in the video.... Also combined with Steve's comments about not being sure about another record..
Short appearances/tours could be the future, but that would be so un-Maiden. I clicked on a random part of their video, and if I understand it right, they said that in the new Metal Hammer interview (we haven't read it in full) - Bruce says they won't tell us when the last tour is. And given the 2026 long tour and break in 2027, it's worrying, but I think they'll wait to see how they feel. Mainly Dave and Janick, I assume.

Just a few months ago, Steve said that they have no plans to retire, but who knows what his plans are for more lineup changes and ofc the opinions/feelings of the others. And whether he really has no desire (!?) for new music.

It makes sense, let's hope so. But in what ''form'' is key really.

Its true that they have said they will not annunce their last tour but i think they will.

IT would be weird to announce only one show in Germany when they booked big stadiums in Romana and Bulgaria which are a way less important markets for Maiden.
