RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2026

The absence of those classy ilustrated linoleum floors... that really is a serious step-down.
The decision not to use floor art on this tour is curious. Maybe to avoid clashing with the screens?
Novarock was phenomenal. Bruce: "we will see you again. In a couple of years. Or sooner. We will see you again."
Interesting. I guess if they do play some shows next year, it will be RFYL again. Not Part 2, but the same songs in Europe again for a third year? What, 2-3 changes, more rare songs? Or maybe a teaser with a new song if the album is recorded early next year. Not ''losing'' a year of touring should be good for them, but what if some members really want that break.

Most probably. You wouldn't be able to change it depending on each song's era. But they could have done something that mixed a bit of the different albums´aesthetics.

Well, about yesterday...

I went to Nova Rock and went to the IM stage before Alter Bridge started playing. Alter Bridge was great and it was amazing to have a great opening band again (after Anthrax in Bratislava). I would gladly have them before Maiden again.

Maiden... Wow. Has to be the best concert of RFYL I have been at. Dave was great. Adrian was enjoying himself thoroughly. Steve was his usual. Janick danced around and was as animated as ever.

Now for Simon... He is doing much better and is much more relaxed this year. There were still some things like slowing down the end of the bridges on 2MTM that sounded clanky and that counting during 7th Son transition, but for the most part he was very smooth. Also, I think they finally tuned the snare a bit higher and therefore the drums sounded much better. Actually, the whole band's mix sounded better than last year.

Bruce was in great daily form and in a great mood. Only a few timing issues that he fixed himself in a matter of seconds without Adrian's stare. Hallowed was as good as it can get nowadays and Aces was passable. He joked around with the band and was more animated than in Bratislava. As some said, Bruce hinted at doing something next year, however, I think it might be him doing the Euro festival run next year with the solo band (or Steve has finally got his way and they will be playing a few select shows next year).

Anyways, it was great to see them up front again (2nd row, I'm not doing FTTB's anymore since Nicko's retirement, because I love that the last time I saw IM with Nicko it was on the barrier in Barcelona) and I got there super easy just before Alter Bridge. The only annoying thing were the crowd surfers.

All in all, if this is the last time I'll see them (hopefully not, but you never know), it was a great one.

This clip is really well recorded. The person who filmed it shouldn't have been too far from @matic22 position. The snare drum sounds much much better. I'm glad they've taken care of that. The drumming on this one, sadly, is still nothing but pro-level average.

Agree on everything. I was row 7 or something and must say that the guitars were perfectly mixed. Best guitars sounds of the all rfyl. Crowsurfing was absurd, especially on Rime oe 7th Son quite parts.

I was on the other side, but yeah, similar.

I have not seen a show yet this year, but I wonder how it is that the perceptions differ so much.
On the one hand, that everyone on stage seems to be having a blast and are totally fired up; on the other hand, that it seems like they are just going through the motions because they have to.

They are ok. A good show. But here in the forum we speak about it all the days. But they are still one great live band.

A friend of mine saw them yesterday at Nova Rock. He's not a Maiden fan, but sent me a text after their show and said "live they're a 12/10, amazing show!". Funny that.

I was at Rock for People yesterday. My sixth time seeing Maiden (2008, 2013, 2018, 2023, 2025, yesterday) and I have never seen them as active on stage as yesterday. It was truly amazing. The only downside was Bruce struggling with high notes from Trooper on. But the other boys surely saved the day and the gig was amazing.

Infinite Dreams is truly unbelievable live, a dream come true!

Well, having 2 nights in a row with this setlist at this age is basically a death sentance for the vocal chords.
And there are many of those deadly back-to-back nights during this leg.

YESSSSS

How were the Aces High and ROTAM in this aspect?
Rime was amazing, maybe some minor breath capacity stuff in the very last verse.
Aces High was nice to sing along, but it is clearly too much for Bruce nowadays and it had certain influence on FOTD.

All in all after seeing them at the beginning of the tour last year in Prague, they are way tighter and locked in and the guys are really relaxed now.

Aces High sounded better than expected. It was clear since the first mintues of the show that it wasn't the best night for Bruce. Tbh I've never heard a weaker performance by him. But that's okay, I don't expect him to sound perfect. He might be full of energy, but he's a heavy metal grandpa. Playing two gigs in a row is just too much for him.

A few more or less interesting things about the gig:
- Bruce changed the lyrics of Murders - the chorus, to be precise. He never sang "Someone call the gendarmes", it was always "Murders in the Rue Morgue/Never gonna find me (...);
- Bruce sounded very positive about Maiden coming back. He mentioned returning a few times and just before leaving the stage he said "Just like James Bond, Iron Maiden will return...". He seemed to be in a really good mood;
- The president attented the show;
- Adrian was wearing a great, very classy outfit :bigsmile:

Overall, I had a really good time in Hradec Kralove. The concert in Bratislava was much better (partially because of the audience - many guys present at Rock for People were randoms who knew the hits, but nothing else), but I'm very glad that I managed to attend the Rock for People show.

Queensryche were great (although the sound was terrible!), Alter Bridge were okay. Saxon - oh my God, they never disappoint. Biff is the perfect heavy metal frontman, it's always such a pleasure to see him on stage. It was such a dumb decision to make them play on another stage, they should have taken Alter Bridge's place. Because of that, I had to leave their gig early to get a nice spot for the Maiden show. Which is a shame.
