Reading that made me feel like Bruce in that Mullet Man interview (which I grant you, is politically ironic).

Still, at least there's someone the nonsense in Age of Innocence appeals to.

The screens are not looking good at all in daylight. I don't know why they made that decision for a stadium tour.
It'll be alright elsewhere in the world, but yeah it's not exactly the best impression when the tour's in the European summer. Especially in the Nordics. Fear of the Dark looks slightly comical in overcast weather, imagine when it's actually sunny and Bruce is performing in front of a giant moon...while the sun shines on him, the stage and the whole crowd.

Much more likely than fast food and little exercise in everyday life.

But what I found really interesting, which I recently heard from a very experienced tour organizer: He is of the opinion that after the pandemic there is a group of people who don't know yet or not anymore how to behave at concerts and festivals and comes across as somewhat lost/clueless at events.

Didn't used to be that way. American audiences have grown a lot more reserved over the years. But at Maiden shows in the USA it's mostly an older crowd around my age anyway. A lot of us can't headbang anymore even if we wanted to :p
Dunno. Goin by LAD US audiences have been fairly static for a long time.
Gotta be honest, I thought the forums were made of stronger stuff
Strong as Iron, baby. Just happen to disagree. I see many big, burly men at metal gigs who stand like a stone from start to finish. They don't look particularly vegan nor androgynous.

So while I reckon your post may have been tongue in cheek I can't stand by an let the big Macho Meat Eating Metal Males get a by ball, they deserve as much flack as the rest when it comes to low energy crowds. Probably cos of all the red meat clogging up their system. Its difficult to rock hard when you need a massive shite.

That wasn't my experience in the 80's

I know bands want to see the crowd going wild and feed off that energy but at least I can still cheer myself hoarse.
Good that it was different in real life but I always found the LAD crowd static. Maybe I need to rewatch. Also, it's billed as like 3 or 4 sold out nights. American Sold Out must be different than European Sold Out cos when the camera pans the crowd there's loads of room throughout the crowd.

Yeah, while I'd prefer a high energy crowd I get that some like to just watch and some can't move as well as they used to. There's room for everyone. What blows my buzz is when people take up prime real estate down the front to just stand, firm and rigid and get annoyed when people bounce into them. Its a downside to every gig I go down the front for. Fucking avocado eaters!

For clarity, I eat avocados from time to time and I mosh from time to time. Go figure.

Is it just me, or does Bruce's voice sounds raspy and damaged after Aces High...
Cold weather could also be a factor.
I'd say, put Running Free as the 1st encore before it's too late.
Off-nights or not, a little bit. Cold? I'll say it again, I can't believe Bruce put the song on the encores again, to do that with his voice! It was kind of a must in 2022 because of the prop. And I'm sure they play it because of the screen show too. Too bad Tailgunner isn't popular.
They could play other interesting songs for the tour there: Boots to show some battle on the screen/even Afraid, Icarus again for some cool effects, Daughter for crowd participation, Be Quick for a full-on energy... the latter is the perfect replacement. Or Long Distance Runner could have the same role and difficulty. Evil too (oddly omitted for 2 tours and 1 leg in a row).
- 5 early days songs were probably the most. Other interesting songs like Infinite, Land, Still Life, Sun And Steel, etc are probably saved for the next album tour. From the 90's, not sure.

Fear's screen art looks really cartoonish, now that I look at it again. And what's with the screen filler for another song? It's bad. Btw, does Simon play the encore songs a bit slower on purpose? Or is it just me?

Even looking at the in-audience footage closer to the stage, it's pretty easy to tell that's a festival crowd deluxe situation right there; i.e. people who couldn't give less of a shit since they're really just there to be there and drink overpriced alcohol. The more advanced (in age) crowd will additionally not have any recollection of even being there since they're basically the walking dead by then, functionally passed out but somehow still standing and doing not much else. No amount of stimulus will wake them from this state, but luckily by tomorrow morning they'll be right as rain to travel home and a few days after tell their coworkers how much fun it all was!

I agree with you my freind! Bruce struggles a lot with Aces mid-height, that’s why they should drop it and change it for Tailgunner or something like that (Running Free as you said). FOTD isn’t difficult to sing at all.

I'd been trying to avoid the live videos but I surrender.
What's the best version to watch the concert straight through on Youtube? By that I mean songs in order of the live show.
