RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

For me-

Senjutsu title track
El Dorado
At least one of the more poorly produced messes on TXF and VXI (though I enjoy a lot from those albums)- I'll choose Don't Look to the eyes of a stranger

Anyway carry on everyone
Wrong thread but I can’t even listen to the two Blaze albums. I’ve tried every 5 years or so to see if my opinion changes- but can’t get past the first songs.

It seems like "Iron Maiden LLP" is taking down full videos of concerts. Is that something they usually do? How does it not fall into fair use?

Example:

Luckily I have this one downloaded since I didn't record it myself and want to have some memories of the first concert I attended...

I do slightly wonder if some of the reason for the harder line on filming this time around is less about wanting to see less phones, and more about the fact that when filmed on one rather than the expensive professional cameras used for the official channels, the screens on stage can end up looking a bit shit.

The Raven Age actually was on the same flight as me from Oslo to Trondheim. Funny. I thought recognised George Harris, but I had to google the entire band to double check.

Last year they also took down some videos of really rough performances by Nicko from Australia, I believe. I think in that case they specifically contacted the uploader and essentially went "we're giving you the chance to take it down yourself or we'll DMCA you". My answer remains the same as back then: it's fucking lame and pathetic and an unbelievably shitty move towards your fans to abuse DMCAs because you don't like people posting videos of your band.

I've revisited RIME with a bit more analysis, as some previously noted idiosyncrasies bothered me.

I think we all agree that Simon uses a metronome or click for the beginning of the song (and possibly other parts as well). Simon then stays very consistent in tempo -- especially in the Bratislava and Prague performances of that post-scream section I talked about; they remain almost perfectly in sync until the next vocal part, a considerable duration. Therefore, you could well suspect a continuous click track for this part, which I originally did.
However, I have now also checked the Budapest performance of the same section, and while starting at the identical tempo, interestingly it accelerates subtly (understandable for a first concert...). The beginning of the song isn't that consistent in tempo in either performance, which is why I've only suspected a click track for later section(s). Which, thinking of it, would be weird anyway.

Additionally, the video, from what I've seen, isn't synced to the music like a commercial, which doesn't make a click track necessary either. Right?

So, again, it's almost certain there's a metronome for beginnings, like count-ins, but no consistent click track. That's what I say today. Please, somebody else do some research as well; it's fun and interesting.

I think this has never happened before 2024.

As for the biggest news, Simon is doing really well (I'm pleasantly surprised) and the new production is beautiful and different from anything we've ever had, which is great. It was about time the band allowed itself to be more modern, both to attract younger audiences and to give us a bigger stadium show. The Legacy of The Beast production, which is the band's best ever, would be hard to beat.
I personally agree with the last point: as the history books begin to be written on Maiden’s touring career, I’d place the Legacy of the Beast 2018-19 stage show as the band’s best ever.

since it cannot be beaten, good they went down an entirely different route this year.

Probably. Although what's the point? Like with every tour, and the songs are there. They are planning to release a live concert? I guess so.

In terms of Maiden's essential show, LOTB is the top.

BTW, Adrian has really done his homework this year. He is playing the 3rd line on Phantom, fills during Wrathchild 1st verse (has never done that live) and the 3 little fills on Mariner (for example just after "the Mariner tells his tale"). Plus Powerslave solo is closest to the original one since probably World Slavery Tour.
Wrathchild's first fills were usually played by Dave before. They all have a go with them. I think it's because Adrian doesn't have a solo for the first 2 songs. Powerslave's solo is indeed closer to the original.
