RUN FOR YOUR LIVES 2025 Tour Thread *SPOILERS INSIDE*

I hope this has nothing to do with my observation.

Has Janick always had such large bags under his eyes? I've never noticed it that much.
And no, I'm not writing this to make a negative comment about his looks.
I just hope that everyone is in the best possible health and shape.
Yeah, very odd indeed...but anyone seen the video of Nicko McBrain giving the award/inductee to Alex Van Halen at the drum Hall of Fame. Nicko has "put on weight"? Or maybe has treatments related to his stroke??. Check it out and tell me everyone thinks (or even know)

With all due respect, Nick has very obviously had some "work" done. That's all I will say on the matter.

Anyway, I really like Simons drumming and a lot of the YouTube comments are talking like it was someone like me up there drumming for Iron Maiden, ie- not very good.

I can see being slightly disappointed they didn't play some deeper cuts, but come on. I can't bring myself to complain about a set that contains both Rime and Seventh Son.

Not to mention the band seems rejuvenated. The combination of a new drummer and the big screen makes this a different band than I saw back in November. They sound ten years younger. I can't wait to see this show in person.
At first, I read that as: “I can’t wait to see this show in prison.” Huh.

To be honest, the animations are mostly done well enough and the ones with Eddie in particular (like the big POM Eddie during Iron Maiden) are awesome. There are certain scenes like the one in Rime though, where the crew turns into skeletons, that seem like AI was used and I wouldn't be surprised.

How do you all actually like the tour merch this time? I'm not impressed by any of those shirts, and some look just awful (Wratchchild/Rue).
I really like the Powerslave/ Rime shirt. Only thing I would've liked to see different is that there's only countries on the back instead of cities/ venues but maybe that's nitpicking. The "tour Eddie" Shirt isn't that bad but it's a little cluttered and I don't like the fact there's attributes on it that aren't in the setlist (Total Eclipse sky, Piece of Mind chain even if there's only one song in the setlist) though the LOTB 2022 had 2 Minutes on it and that wasn't on the setlist then either....

The Wrathchild shirts is ugly imo. I really like the artist of these designs (Dan Mumford) and I even have a Metallica poster from Pinkpop 2022 and an Anthrax - Kreator - Testament tour shirt from this exact artist. But this one's not his best design.

My dad will get the Aces High shirt. He loves that song and he loves green shirts.

Other than that I'm not interested in anything else. Perhaps of they have a venue exclusive shirt I'll get that but for The Netherlands I'm not counting on it at all.

I know a few illustrators IRL who have worked with Bruce on his graphic novels and Maiden on some prints and posters (not name dropping, that's unimportant but understand that's my profession: illustration). One thing I know is that both Bruce individually and the band as an entity appreciate and respect the craft, the creativity, the imagination of artists. So when I hear charges of them using Ai-based images during their show, my opinion...and that's all it is, an opinion...is that I doubt it. I mean, MAYBE some, like the ocean waves in "Mariner"..? But there's so many specific references in the animations that I doubt Ai was the basis.

Hello,

I have four standing tickets up for resale for the gig on Saturday 28th June at the London Stadium.

My group and I can no longer attend unfortunately so figured best to let others take our place.

Face value through: Ticketmaster

You can also find by using the Listing ID: RL37404734

Thanks!

I just noticed this myself, but has there been any discussion about Adrian singing background vocals during Aces High?
I don’t think that’s happened since World Slavery tour, am I right?
Yes. I guess Adrian's backing vocals are to help Bruce (nothing can help though; and it can ruin a potential live release). Some say fans shouldn't complain now, but with such performances of Aces (Bruce's side), we all have the right to complain. I refuse to think Bruce isn't aware. Why doing this to your voice? It's not that bad, but the high notes in the chorus are bad. The scream is bad too. We will remember this tour for the epic new stage show the ever-celebrated timeless classics, but Aces' performances will always be a downer.

Nicko has gotten fillers amongst other things. I would never recommend it. It rarely has good-looking results. And you know it has not if people thing your looks have something to do with a treatment for your illness or weight gain.

Could it be that some YouTube fans have comments like that just because Simon's drum kit is so small, and they think that means he can't be very skilful? Of course that is nonsense but maybe people who don't know much about drumming believe that.

Yeah I was amazed he sounded so good and got all those sounds out of a small kit.

That being said : it’s Maiden, one of the most theatrical metal bands. You have to have a flashy looking kit on stage, it’s part of the image.

Reminds me of when Vinnie Appice joined Sabbath in 1980 with a normal sized kit and they did the rehearsal and Iommi thought he was just rehearsing with a small kit because he didn’t have his proper kit there. They got to the first gig and his tiny little kit looked like a toy on the massive stage, everyone laughed at it. Appice quickly got a massive kit just so it looked good on stage. Simon needs to do the same thing. His little kit looks absolutely stupid on a massive stage. This isn’t British Lion in front of a hundred people in a shitty bar.

Just checked a few performances from 1999, 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2022 and it seems you're correct.
They're also noticeably sung like a main vocalist would approach these lines, compared to how Adrian sang them in the 80s. Maybe his solo project leaving an impression?

Given how much they switch out song-wise between tours, I agree. Reckon Evil That Men Do will make its comeback there.
Let's hope so. I definitely expect Evil That Men Do to come back for the next tour. If this tour gets a 3rd leg with the same theme, they will change a few songs. For the 2nd leg, I'm not sure, but maybe there's a small chance. I don't want to think about it because we know them.

"WHOA!!! They played "Phantom Of The Opera," "Powerslave," "The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner," "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son" AND "Killers" in the same set but that encore with "Aces High" just ruined it all for me."

Yeah but Aces One-Foot-Above-the-Ground is at the end of the set so that's what we'll remember the most clearly so yes it does negate the rest of this incredible set.

Whatever they decide to do once this tour wraps up, I think the giant screen is here to stay, they will keep milking that and not go back to curtains
I agree that the giant screen is probably here to say. And it's great. I think they've moved on. Plus, the possibilities with it are endless. But if they won't use inflatables ever again, I'm going to miss them so much. Weird to think about it.

Imagine what they could do with the new stage with songs like Infinite and Land.
