So glad and lucky to be seeing Maiden for the 4th time tomorrow, in the Netherlands. I will always be excited given each time might be the last time they tour.
Agree with the above.I was there in Paris, and if you're coming out of the show thinking "Aces high was fucking terrible. And I mean fucking terrible. A disaster.", over what, a few lines of vocals being not great?, then maybe take a break from internet forums, social media etc. because it's not doing you any good, and your missing the point of a rock n roll show.
Loads of fun mate!So glad and lucky to be seeing Maiden for the 4th time tomorrow, in the Netherlands. I will always be excited given each time might be the last time they tour.
Enjoy the gig and the build up to it.So glad and lucky to be seeing Maiden for the 4th time tomorrow, in the Netherlands. I will always be excited given each time might be the last time they tour.
I don't think so. The Time Machine was decent (and forgettable)This tour is for sure the best they've sounded so far in the 2020's. Id argue Bruce sounded much worse on The Time Machine last year than he does on Aces this year. No one cried about that for 200 pages. I believe people want to dislike this tour.
Agree with the above.
Aces has been slagged off so much since it`s 2022 appearance later in the set that it seems to me to be something that people are waiting to see fail on this tour. The 2 versions i saw weren`t bad at all but even if one of them was badly sung i don`t think for a minute the rest of the show and the day leading up to it would be a right off , not a chance.
Watch the screen show which i thought was great and sing along with the chorus , you`ll enjoy it i`m sureHere we go around in circles again. It's okay to be disappointed if a gig wasn't up to one's expectations, but we do not need to relitigate Aces High constantly. Nobody's mind is going to be changed, least of all anyone involved with Iron Maiden. I am reserving judgement but I am certainly not enthralled by the placement of the song in the setlist.
Oh, I'm not worried. I always have fun.Watch the screen show which i thought was great and sing along with the chorus , you`ll enjoy it i`m sure![]()
They should start before 20.50 because the venue closes at 23.00Does anyone know the exact time schedule of the Germany Berlin Waldbühne concerts? it says 20.00, but is it Avatar's stage time, or Maiden's?
Now I'm reading that curfew is 22.00 so I guess 19.50 they startmy friend checked and last time they played there they started at 20.00. because it's in a forest and a historic place, curfew is a little earlier i guess.
Totally unrelated to everything, but Adrian's rhythm tone in the opening riff of Wicker Man was so deliciously crunchy in 2018 in Helsinki it's crazy. Same with Nicko's thundering tom hits. It was so fucking sad hearing that same thing on NotD with all the life strangled out of it.Fair enough - I like H's tone, it's 'chunky' while not being too dirty.
But I think it varies a lot from where you're stood. I think his tone is great if you don't have the issues of a large arena to compromise it - so it could be his tone is fine but the translation through the PA has degraded it a bit..
His tone on 2MTM on Nights of the Dead live album does sound terrible, like it's coming through a telephone. But I put that down to the mix, not his actual tone. You can kind of tell it should sound good but just had all the balls taken out of it by the mix. Thanks, Tony Newton
Same with RiR version of Wicker Man, it just roars. A shame that they seem to have gone for a less heavy rythm guitar tone after that (or put Adrian lower in the mix)Totally unrelated to everything, but Adrian's rhythm tone in the opening riff of Wicker Man was so deliciously crunchy in 2018 in Helsinki it's crazy. Yep, Maiden are one hour earlier than usual!Does anyone know the exact time schedule of the Germany Berlin Waldbühne concerts? it says 20.00, but is it Avatar's stage time, or Maiden's?
I'm not a drummer but maybe you are thinking of Nicko's infatuation with ride cymbals? Also I think he tuned his drums quite high.I wanted to ask—is there a specific word for that metallic tinge or shimmer you can sometimes hear in certain songs? Something like “brassy,” “ringing,” or “overtone-rich”? I really enjoy that quality in drum sounds. I think Maiden needs that element, especially compared to the more boxy-sounding live drums we get from Simon.
Go on, tell me he’s not good
