Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg Video

I heard this last night and wasn't wild on it, but after giving it about five or so listens its begun to grow on me. There's alot of "chugginess" which is the only way I can describe it, but after a few listens I began to realise that it suited the sound very well. Looking forward to the album with greater anticipation then ever now :D

Hmmm just heard it for the first time and don't think much of it, to be honest. Ah well, I hope it grows on me as much as it seems to have done on all you other chaps.

The song is awesome!!!! I just can't wait for the album to come out!!

For those of you who care (all 3 of you, probably), I've taken the time to write down the lyrics I could make out:

Let me tell you about my life
Let me tell you about my dreams
Let me tell you about the things that happened
Always real to me

Let me tell you of my hope
Of my need to reach the sky
Let me take you on an awkward journey
Let me tell you why

Let me tell you why

Why should these curses be laid upon me?
I won't be forgiven 'till I can break free
What did I do to deserve all this guilt?
Paid for my sins for the sale of my soul (?)

Demons are trapped all inside of my head
My hopes have gone, I reach for heaven from hell
My sins are many, my guilt is too heavy
The pressure of knowing, of having what I know

I'm able to see things, things I don't want to see
The lives of a thousand souls, weig heavy down on me [thanks, Thingfish!]
I know they're crying for help, reaching out
The burden of them will take me down as well

The sin of a thousand souls not died in vain
Reincarnates to let me live again

Chorus: (x2)
Someone to save me
Something to save me from myself
To bring salvation
To exorcise this hell

2nd Chorus:
Someone to save me
Something to save me from my hell
I taste damnation [?]
Awake from this nightmare

Chorus:
Someone to save me
Something to save me from myself
To bring salvation
To exorcise this hell

Welcome aboard, Parmenion!  A good choice of name, I might add! ;)

Dave also wrote Rainmaker which was a single too!!
And he also co-wrote Sanctuary and Virus! 4 Singles in total.
But I think Dave wrote WAY too few songs. Most of the time, there are only 1-2 songs on every album and just ONE song, which he's written on his own and that was Charlotte The Harlot, as we all know. Dave's songs are allways great and unique for me. -_-

To the Video/song: Just brilliant. Really fresh and heavy. Great riff and great groove! And it grows on me every time I listen. ;)

Good job Silky. :)

Reincarnates to let me live again
Infinite Dreams?
And to return and live again, Reincarnate play the game

wow..the more I listen to it, the better it gets.  Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

Well.... Can I add anything new?

I love the part starting just before 5:00, to begin with. Modern sound, the tune rocks confidently, Bruce sings with great power. And the video is nice and nostalgic.

No, not really.

EDIT: One thing after all: Steve moves really well... ;)

My favorite Murray song is still Deja-vu ! :)

Gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised about this. Gave me goosebumps when it kicked in. Yes its a fairly simple song but thats what I want. I don't want a song to sound like 3 songs stuck back to back thats what I hate about the last two albums. The only thing is it goes on mabye a minute or two longer than it needs too. A little bit of a Angel and the Gambler syndrome there but overall I love it. And the video was great in my opinion. Really different with a good feel good vibe to it :)

Cheers for that Silky :ok:

After listening to it again the lines:
My sins are many, my guilt is too heavy
The pressure of knowing, of having what I know

I'm able to see things, things I don't want to see
The lives of a thousand souls, weighing down on me
are what send shivers down my spine. I've changed my opinion on it, its a fantastic song.

I couldn't stay up last night and watch it and was too busy this morning so I've just listened to it now.  I was so anxious all day to get home and listen to it.  The video is absolutely rubbisg but the song is great.  It sounds like something from Bruce's solo career.  Slow and plodding with a great wee riff.  I will get to like it I'm sure :D

I'm not too sure on some of the lines, but those are what my guesses are.  If I'm right, this is a damn good set of lyrics, although it is slightly ambiguous-spiritual stuff, like Dream of Mirrors or Heaven Can Wait.  I don't want to break open the Commentary on this song prematurely (we need Mav back to do that... :(), but this song seems very preoccupied with the past, with guilt and, perhaps linked to the cover, responsibility for others, and the guilt of letting them down.  Pretty strong stuff. -_-

EDIT: Before I forget, my favourite part of the song has to be the line 'Let me tell you of my hope', where the backing chords go steadily up the scale, and Bruce's voice rises, giving the impression of 'raising' the tone of the song up.

After maybe about 20 listens I ahve the song sussed.

Intro - The Evil That Men Do
Intro speaking part - Dance of Death
Main riff - a slowed down Fortunes of War (or any X Factor song)
Bassline - typical chugging Maiden, Rime...
Instrumental section - Sign of the Cross
Lyrics - vague and meaningless, The Thin Line Between Love and Hate
Chorus - Seventh Son of a Seventh Sonesque
Solos - Slow and bog standard, like something from No Prayer for the Dying Album
Outro - Fortunes of War
