Why picture discs are almost always Heavy Metal records ?

This is not just a question for collectors...

Nice answer, but it's not that.
The answer was given to me by a guy who has a museum dedicated to the record's history, in a little village near mine.

The reason is technical...
 
Ok, I give the answer to let someone ask a new question.

In fact, the reason why Heavy Metal bands are almost the only ones who release picture discs is the sound : the sound of a picture disc is not very good and the background noise occured by it is louder than usual. But with a Metal song it's - generally - less important than with a Jazz song, for example.

So you'll never find a picture disc for Jazz or Classical, sometimes for Pop and Rock, and almost always for Metal...
