A guy canadian called Hugh Le Caine invented it. Is the answer to my question.

Prostitution?

Seems logical to me. Isn't that how, um, almost everybody financed their voyages to America back then? And by the way, I'm referring to the pot-selling. [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

Yeah, wasn't he like "aight bitch (reffering to a queen of course), listen up, I got this great stuff you can puff and over the pond there's this place called Virginia, or I plan to call it that actually, where i plan to plant it. So fork over some cash so I can make my way or take some from that mofo (reffering to the king of course) and we got ourselves a most excellent adventure"

Just give us the answer already! [!--emo&:P--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/tongue.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'tongue.gif\' /][!--endemo--]

He bet Queen Elizabeth I that he could weigh smoke. He too two cigars of identical mass and then lit one and let it burn away.

He then weighed the ashes against the original cigar, telling the queen that the difference was the mass of the smoke.

She admitted defeat and agreed to finance his voyage

Here's one for you all:

Who was Ferdinand Maximilian von Hapsburg, and why is he important in history?

He was Napoleon III's puppet emperor in Mexico. He's important because his execution proved that Mexicans wouldn't tolerate being anyone's puppet except America's. (the Munro Doctrine)

I think it'scelebtrated in early December...can't remember the precise day. If I recall correctly, it was the day Romania and Transylvania joined

I could easily be mistaken; Eastern Europe is, sadly, one of my weaker areas of knowledge.

You're absolutely rght IronDuke! It's celebrated on the 1st of Decembere, in rememberance of the Great Joining at Alba Iulia (in Transylvania) in 1918, when 100.000 people showed up, even if 1227 representatives were expected. In that day they decided to unite with Romania, and altough it would take another two years, till 1920 for the union to be officially reckognized (me thinks it was the Treaty of Trianon, but I'm not a historian)

That i know is not right. The Monroe Doctrine is another name or an extention of "Manifest Destiny" where U.S citizens aka Americans felt it was their destiny not only to expand all the way to california but south until reaching Argentina AND if weren't for Mexico that would have happened. Mexico has never been the U.S's puppet or anybody elses since Maximilian. Like Switzerland we are a Neutral Peaceful Country. The only reason people don't invest their money in Mexico (like they do in Switzerland) is because of the rampant corruption [!--emo&:D--][img src=\'style_emoticons/[#EMO_DIR#]/biggrin.gif\' border=\'0\' style=\'vertical-align:middle\' alt=\'biggrin.gif\' /][!--endemo--].
Argentina asked for the U.S' help during their war with England over the Falkland Islands using the Monroe doctrine and the U.S basically gave them the finger and told them they didn't mean ALL Americans... just gringos...
