Queensryche & Geoff Tate

Based on the overall fan reaction on their forums and various Facebook sites to QR and Todd so far, NONE of who are hearing the songs as "bland and uninspired" and are ALL saying how much they love the new stuff and how much it sounds like classic Ryche, I think you will all be proven quite wrong on your predictions. Time will tell.

From what we've been told so far, it sounds like the next album is going to have a bit more to it. There are 14-15 songs written for it: http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/queensryche-has-14-to-15-songs-ready-for-next-album/ And they are being described as "progressive and very melodic": http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/qu...xt-album-will-be-heavy-prog-and-very-melodic/ Finally, they are saying it might be released early some time next year: http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6244122/queensryche-new-album-2015-releease

Oh, Todd recently sang on a new song by Glen Drover. It's pretty sweet!: http://bravewords.com/exclusives/audios/player

:goodbye: I'm in absolute shock and sadness right now!

From: http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/father-of-queensryche-singer-todd-la-torre-found-dead/
According to a number of media outlets — including Tampa Bay Times, WFLA.com and ABC Action News — William LaTorre, a prominent St. Petersburg, Florida doctor and father of QUEENSRŸCHE/ex-CRIMSON GLORY singer Todd La Torre (pictured), was found dead in his office Thursday morning. Detectives have officially ruled his death as a suicide. A gun was found nearby. He was 73.

The shooting reportedly took place around 7 a.m. at St. Petersburg's LaTorre Wellness Center, which William LaTorre owned. He did not leave a note, according to officers.

"We have people with his family at this time and family and friends have gathered to deal with this news," Yolanda Fernandez of the St. Petersburg Police Department told ABC Action News. "It is very difficult for everyone and of course he has been here in the Bay area for a long time, so he has a lot of people that knew him."

William LaTorre's daughter and Todd's sister, Kristina Latorre Young, paid tribute to her dad earlier today by posting a photo of the two siblings and their father on her Facebook page (see below).

William LaTorre was the chiropractor who made headlines in 1989 when he became involved in a Memorial Day boat collision that claimed the lives of four teenagers. Todd, then 16, two of Todd's friends, and William LaTorre's wife were on the boat with him that day. William LaTorre was later acquitted in court.

Barry Cohen, who represented William LaTorre in that case, told ABC Action News he saw LaTorre three weeks ago at Trader Joe's in Tampa. Cohen said there was no indication LaTorre was in distress.

"You never know what goes on inside somebody's mind," said Cohen. "He obviously had a lot going on. A lot of demons eating at him."

William LaTorre had plans today to celebrate his 38th wedding anniversary with his wife.

@Yax It got moved again: http://rychespace.com/ However, I won't support it because of what Samsara said about QR's official forum. He called the members there a bunch of ass kissers and that was after members of QR actually took the time to join The Breakdown Room and post on there as well. And then Samsara goes and insults QR's own forum like that? So, if anything, I wish you would join QR's forum and support that instead: http://queensryche.freeforums.net/

Not a bad lineup. I'm not really a fan of what either bands are doing right now but could be a fun show.

A bit of a new album update.

See where HolyDiver says "Todd commented that they were nearly done recording the new album and that they are looking at a very tentative, don't-quote-me-on-this September release date."

And from Todd's Facebook:

Hopefully they won't master it with all that compression like on the last album. I'm still able to listen it, but I can hear the distortion in the sound which bothers me a bit. It would have been such an amazing recording had they left it alone.

I'm starting to lose interest in QR. They are catering to the nostalgia, seemingly unwilling to promote their new material to a live audience and not changing up their setlist.

And Todd is slipping. Tate took a decade to degrade, and over two decades until he got into a less than acceptable state (American Soldier and forward). Todd seems to be on a faster slope than Tate.

Edit: And reading Rychespace.com confirms I'm not the only one feeling this way.

I'm going to wait to hold judgement of whether or not QR is becoming a nostalgia act until the new album is out and what kind of setlist we get after that. It could be a little too early for the band to start doing new stuff yet considering the album won't be out until October. And yes, Todd did have a couple of off nights where he didn't sound the greatest, but even Bruce has had off nights. Compare his vocal performance of Aces High on Live After Death from the audio version to the video. The audio is quite good, yet on the video, he has a hard time singing the higher parts in the verses. So, I think we should at least wait and see what the future holds for QR and at the very least, the new album could be something to really enjoy.

Speaking of that, we're getting closer!
