Powerslave: Album Discussion

I thought about something,

Is it possible (note: I can't remember exactly how the other 80's albums were written) that some of the ''odd'' decisions for the album, like - no one bothered to write lyrics for the instrumental, some really short solos, a song with no proper solos - were influenced by their free time.
I remember them saying when they went to record they didn't do anything for 2 weeks or something. Again, I can't remember what was for the other 80's albums and it's not like some of them don't have short solos or no solos at all (mainly for the short songs, Gangland, Sun, some from the first 2 albums), but could it be because of the tight schedule back then. Or just an artistic decision, which would be odd (imo) given the status of the band in 1984. They viewed some songs as kind of fillers?

Maiden just announced new lp vinyl for LAD (due to today being 40th anniversary)

Let's say it's cool for recent fans or die-hard collectors. Being neither, I think I'll pass. ;)

I own the Castle 90s release on cd that has B sides of singles on a bonus disc but it doesn't include side 4 of the vinyl
Yup, there is not a single edition of LAD that includes everything, either you get side 4 or the b sides but never both and in some cases neither.

FFS. Just look at how other bands have treated their classic live albums. UFO, Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple and Hawkwind. They all put out incredible boxsets.

This is such a missed opportunity to put out a boxset to celebrate this iconic live album. Lame. Seriously lame.
I agree. Maiden really drop the ball when it comes to deluxe or vault stuff really hard. I won't be getting this and I adore this era of the band(duh) and it's my fave maiden live album
