I thought about something,
Is it possible (note: I can't remember exactly how the other 80's albums were written) that some of the ''odd'' decisions for the album, like - no one bothered to write lyrics for the instrumental, some really short solos, a song with no proper solos - were influenced by their free time.
I remember them saying when they went to record they didn't do anything for 2 weeks or something. Again, I can't remember what was for the other 80's albums and it's not like some of them don't have short solos or no solos at all (mainly for the short songs, Gangland, Sun, some from the first 2 albums), but could it be because of the tight schedule back then. Or just an artistic decision, which would be odd (imo) given the status of the band in 1984. They viewed some songs as kind of fillers?
