I do believe he was hanging on until he could get back onstage for one last time. I think Back to the Beginning wasn't for the fans, it was for him. What a way to go out. RIP.

I had the good fortune to have seen him live nine times (seven solo and twice with Black Sabbath) since 1988, and he always gave his all.

RIP Ozzy. This hit hard. We all knew he was living on borrowed time, but man that was almost instant after the farewell show. What a bittersweet triumph.
Black Sabbath and Paranoid album was my first foray into hardrock/metal almost 25 years ago, I still vividly remember hearing Ozzy's vocals in War Pigs, and nothing was the same anymore. Needless to say, this is a very emotional baton passing for me.

This has really hit me. What a true orioginal. Sabbath are in my top 5 and his solo stuff is fantastic. He always had the best poeople in his band. He held on. He's up there grabbing a pint with Lemmy
I'm absolutely gutted. Obviously knew he was in a bad way having seen him at BTTB a few weeks ago, but didn't expect him to pass so soon after. You could see his mind was still active but his body was failing him. That final concert was like him being alive at his own wake. I'm glad he got to see the love we all had for him. He was larger than life and a true icon. RIP Ozzy, give 'em hell!
