I never understood where those rumors come from, now i've seen one of the guys @ local forums talking about "7th son retro tour".

Can anyone please link some official statement, hint, anything on this subject?

I'll leave some benefit of a doubt in case that someone actually links something interesting and trustworthy. However, i'll also respond right now with this; most of those rumors come from an angle of Maiden England DVD, and how Maiden are bound to do a tour supporting the DVD because they did a SBiT tour supporting Live After Death DVD. Pure conjecture. The way i see it, they covered 4 songs from Seventh Son on SBiT tour. Off remaining album tracks, two were never ever played live, and remaining pair - Infinite Dreams and title track - were too long and/or too complicated and played ages ago for band to re-learn them again. The dismissal of Somewhere In Time material was again proven with playing HCW and Wasted Years only.

Thus, i think that Steve thinks they covered mid-late eighties with SBiT tour, and expecting another late '80s tour is nonsense.

While I completely agree that there is no proof for a tour of this nature, it IS in the pattern they've demonstrated so far.  IF there is a Early Days pt 3, and IF that set is what includes the already confirmed DVD release of Maiden England, then it is likely they will tour for it.  Would they could probably do though, is throw in some 90s songs on that tour that haven't been played in a while, since they threw in some late 80s songs on the Powerslave II tour.  But I am also leary of this, because they did play 4 songs from Sevent Son on the last "early days, SBIT" tour.  I just hope we're both wrong, and they do a tour with tracks like Be Quick or Be Dead, Seventh Son, and Infinite Dreams.

They are bound to do another History of Iron Maiden DVD sooner or later and, if that interview on youtube is anything to go by, it will probably run from Somewhere in Time to and including Fear of The Dark. That way we can have the whole history part 3 on one disc and they can cram the old 12 Wasted Years, Maiden England and Donington 1992 films on the second disc. That will give them four albums to tour with if they do go out and make another history tour.

Then vid was clear about the releases but I didn't deduce any tour connection. Maybe it's my lack of English, there's a certain word I don't understand @ 7:04

... We'll probably do some .... (a)round it. ...

Yes, he said something around it, then he said we"ll go out and do that show sooner or later.

Who knows...back in the original SBIT announcement..they said they were going to release the Maiden England DVD in 2008 as well as Live After Death..suggesting they planned the SBIT to cover both, and basically take them up to the end of the 80's

To tie in with forthcoming 2008 releases on DVD of the classic 'LIVE AFTER DEATH' and 'MAIDEN ENGLAND' concert videos (more details coming soon) this tour, aptly entitled 'SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME', will revisit the band's history by focusing almost entirely on the 80's in both choice of songs played and the stage set, which will be based around the legendary Egyptian Production of the 1984-85 'Powerslave Tour'.

But then they didn't release it..so who knows!

That would be value for money indeed!.

I will be patient and take whatever comes, i like the idea of Maiden England, 12 Wasted Years, Live At Donington 92 and History 3 as one release, could be a cracking setlist 86-92 for a supporting tour. :)

I would rather have a full Somewhere On Tour pro-shot concert. Maiden England and Live At Donington are great, but I want something new...

Steve has nothing from this tour filmed and kept for posterity.

Hum... I don't think so. I read him telling the same story since the early 90's when asked about it; last time I read was on Rock Brigade magazine, on the August 2006 issue, when the time of AMOLAD listening session for the press.

We know of pro shot concerts from that era to exist, and to not capture footage of any tour for archiving just doesn't make sense.

Here yea go :ok:. I hope this answers your question. Start watching at about the 6 minute mark.

I watched that, but I don't think that means we'll get a "Maiden England" tour given that SBIT had 3.5 songs from SSSOASS and 2 from SIT.

Also, the USA got a mini tour last year focused on 2000s material and Maiden England wasn't nearly as big as LAD, so I'm not expecting another period tour since the only stuff left is from the 1990s, which is widely regarded as Maiden's weakest decade.  A B-sides tour or a tour with at least one song from everyone album are more likely.

A b-sides tour more likely?
