I never understood where those rumors come from, now i've seen one of the guys @ local forums talking about "7th son retro tour".
Can anyone please link some official statement, hint, anything on this subject?
I'll leave some benefit of a doubt in case that someone actually links something interesting and trustworthy. However, i'll also respond right now with this; most of those rumors come from an angle of Maiden England DVD, and how Maiden are bound to do a tour supporting the DVD because they did a SBiT tour supporting Live After Death DVD. Pure conjecture. The way i see it, they covered 4 songs from Seventh Son on SBiT tour. Off remaining album tracks, two were never ever played live, and remaining pair - Infinite Dreams and title track - were too long and/or too complicated and played ages ago for band to re-learn them again. The dismissal of Somewhere In Time material was again proven with playing HCW and Wasted Years only.
Thus, i think that Steve thinks they covered mid-late eighties with SBiT tour, and expecting another late '80s tour is nonsense.
