Official Star Wars Thread

I heard that the ROTS book,Yoda states that the old way of teaching Jedi needed to change. He started the Sith had evolved ave the Jedi were stagnant and needed to change.

I'm thinking that's why they taught Luke. I could also see some ideological changes for Obi-Wan. Maybe including a girl friend :)

Indeed, he has these suspicions throughout the novel but they become most evident when he is duelling Sidious, here is the passage:

"Finally, he saw the truth. This truth: that he, the avatar of light, Supreme Master of the Jedi Order, the fiercest, most implacable, most devastatingly powerful foe the darkness had ever known... just— didn't— have it. He'd never had it. He had lost before he started. He had lost before he was born. The Sith had changed. The Sith had grown, had adapted, had invested a thousand years' intensive study into every aspect of not only the Force but Jedi lore itself, in preparation for exactly this day. The Sith had remade themselves. They had become new. While the Jedi— The Jedi had spent that same millennium training to refight the last war."

The Revenge of the Sith novel is actually rather enjoyable, I preferred it to the film.

http://www.starwars.com/news/its-true-all-of-it-star-wars-the-force-awakens-is-coming-home

Coming to digital platforms on April 1 and Blu-ray/DVD on April 5 (in the US). European dates vary from mid to late April as far as I know (for example April 18 in the UK, April 21 in Poland). Besides, the Americans have 3 packaging versions available from 3 different retailers (one of them - Target - adds 20 minutes of bonus content on top of what's on the regular bonus disc).

Bonus features look very interesting but quite short IMO (especially deleted scenes):
– Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey (69:14)
– The Story Awakens: The Table Read (4:01)
– Crafting Creatures (9:34)
– Building BB-8 (6:03)
– Blueprint Of A Battle: The Snow Fight (7:02)
– ILM: The Visual Magic Of The Force (7:54)
– John Williams: The Seventh Symphony (6:51)
– Deleted Scenes:

1. Finn And The Villager (0:31)
2. Jakku Message (0:47)
3. X-Wings Prepare For Lightspeed (0:22)
4. Kylo Searches The Falcon (0:50)
5. Snow Speeder Chase (0:48)
6. Finn Will Be Fine (0:23)

– Force For Change (3:22)

Can't wait, especially since I'm getting a new TV around the release date. ;)

The RLM guys actually enjoyed TFA, so I expect it won't be that savage of a review.

Unless he is actually reviewing the bullshit behind Star Wars Ring Theory, then it will be very funny and appropriate.

Erik Bauersfeld, the voice of Admiral Ackbar, has died at the age of 93.

Sad day for Star Wars fans, although he lived to a very good age, and even got a last hurrah in The Force Awakens. RIP.

Nice. I've heard the extras are very nice but not remotely as insightful as documentaries for prequels. I still have to wait... It comes out on the 21st here. This is going to be my first blu-ray, so I'm looking forward to being blown away by the quality!

I had heard the same, which is too bad. Lucas was pretty good at loading up cool extras on the Blu Rays/DVDs/hell even on the LaserDiscs they did some good commentaries, the Deluxe Special Edition LaserDisc set came with an incredibly cool book as well
