None. All of the "Original 6" have won at least one Stanley Cup. Detroit last won in 2008, the Rangers in 1994, the Habs in 1993, Boston in 1972, Toronto in 1967, and Chicago in 1961.

Then it'd be really cool if the Blackhawks would do it again. I just read that the Flyers were the first non-Original Six team to win the Stanley Cup, victorious in 1973-74 and again in 1974-75. Also a long time ago.

Whoever is going to win, it's pretty special if you ask me.

One more trivia question if you don't mind:

Which two teams (behind Montreal) won the most Stanley Cups (in other words: which are the three best teams of all times?) and how long ago did they win it? Thanks in advance!

The Leafs are #2 with 13, I believe, and then the Red Wings with 11. After that, it gets much lower - Boston and Edmonton both have 5.

I love looking back on the years when Edmonton wasn't a bottom feeder. In other words, the pre-Gretzky-in-LA years. Man, that was a long time ago.

I'm really looking forward to this series... not just as a Hawks fan, but as a hockey fan. These two teams make a really interesting matchup, and there's definitely a chance it'll go to seven games. Although my bet is Hawks in six, winning it back home at the Madhouse.

This whole city really has become hockey oriented again, though. I swear I heard about 5 or 6 other apartments in my complex roar with approval when Buff hit the game winner on Sunday, followed by the empty netter to seal it. To pull out the cheesy phrase I've heard several people use, it's Hawkeytown.  :)

Oh yes. And Philly's crazy too. That's what is cool about San Jose not going on - they can fill the barn, but it's not exactly a hockey town. Chicago loves a winner, and they see them so rarely that they throw their all behind anyone who has a fighting chance.

If you want the Hawks to win at home it would be a game 5 or 7... 6 would be in Philly. Either way, Hawks will take it.

I'm kinda torn-im a Blues fan and should root against the 'Hawks- but I've been following them all playoffs.  However, I'm a big Pronger fan...meh, I'm rootin, for a great 7 game series!

Two new Norwegians to join the NHL.

Jonas Holøs to Colorado Avalanche

and

Mats Zuccarello Aasen to New York Rangers.

Shows that Norwegian ice hockey is on the way up. For the first time, we will have three players in NHL clubs at the same time. Aasen and Holøs will only be the 6th and 7th Norwegians to play there, ever ...

Along with an increasing number of Norwegians delivering the goods in Sweden and Germany, I really hope we can say that our time as a B nation is over, and that we can establish ourselves as one of the 10-12 best.

The Olympics was a bit of a coming out party for Norway. Some of your individual players really showed their marks. In another generation, you'll be where Switzerland is now, I think, or even past that. I hope Norway can join the elite seven (because, yes, we must now include Slovakia) soon!

Elite 7? I've always heard of the "Big 8." Canada, Russia, USA, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany... Though granted the gap between the first 4 and the rest is rather large either way, regardless of 6, 7 or 8 "elite" teams.

If you count Germany, you'd also have to count Switzerland. The last time either of them won a medal in the World Championships or the Winter Olympics was in 1976  (West Germany won Olympic bronze in Innsbruck). Both won medals in the 1953 world championships.

Thus I think it is more natural to draw the line below Slovakia. After all, the Slovaks have won one World Championship the last 10 years. I don't know how well they used to be represented in Czechoslovakia's team before the dissolution in 1993?

That's a good question, were they still one nation today they'd have PLENTY of talent to pick from enough to rival the other top nations. Can you imagine a line with the Hossas and Jagr, with Chara on D with Hamerlink while the coach has between Vokoun and Halak to pick from in net? DAMN

I would like to see the Flyers win the cup. This would be Hossa's third straight year to the final with yet another team. Like to see him have to wait a little longer.

3/5 - he was in 2006 and 2007, but he didn't play for Pittsburgh or Detroit so he missed the last 2 years.
