Overrated or not, I love Oasis. They had some stinkers, but even their last couple albums are awesome.
I’d go to this if they (survive a single show and) make it to the US.
I tend to agree with Todd, The first two albums were really good, but that third..... man.... rhymes with turd.
This. I still probably like Blur more (especially the "class trilogy" - MLIR, PL and TGE), but I have Oasis on a heavy rotation myself. I'd also throw in the first official Liam solo album, For What It's Worth is classic Oasis. Also I'm in the minority that actually likes Be Here Now very much - I admit that Todd in the Shadows's teardown is pretty funny and there might be something to what he says, but I still enjoy it, mostly. My Big Mouth, Stand by Me, Don't Go Away, the first 5-6 minutes of All Around the World... it's all good.
Bummer. They too sold out. Had hoped that they will never reunite and keep it authentic.
Well, Jonah never got there so IDK if Tuomas will.Tarjish
But in all seriousness, I loved them for a brief spell as a teen (before I embraced Maiden/metal in general) and saw them live on the Be Here Now tour. That show, much like the album they were supporting, was a cocaine fuelled mess.
I do admit to being a little drawn in for the nostalgia but the cynic in me knows this is only being done for bank (mainly to pay for Noel's divorce) and not for artistic reasons.
But then again, I wouldn't expect any less from the Gallagher brothers.
I read a similar comment which was like "if the police want to catch all the rioters that got away, just arrest the audience at next year's Oasis concerts".Yesterday I read this comment elsewhere as a response to the tour announcement and it made me chuckle:
"Let's hope the Oasis fans are released from prison for rioting this Summer by then!"
A reunion can only be a good thing for their fans. At the end of the day, music is to be enjoyed, isn't it?
