I liked Burn After Reading until
Brad Pitt died,
that ruined the rest for me.

I did not expect that to happen. Also the philandering character played by clooney and his descent into paranoia was hilarious. Today I'm gonna watch Blood Simple, I've never seen this one before so I'm reallly looking forward to watching it.

Leslie Nielson RIP.

My great uncle played on a ball team with him in the forces when they were both young men.

I miss read your post and thought Leslie West died. :o And that is cool about your uncle.

It's a shame Nielsen's talent went to waste in so many really bad films during the last twenty years. Nevertheless, he was always the only factor that at least made them somehow watchable. I remember how a mate of mine and I went to see Super Hero Movie when it was in theatres, and we both agreed that we didn't expect anything from the film and only watched it for the sake of seeing Leslie Nielsen one more time. Unsurprisingly, his part is the only thing from the film I remember.

I'm Here - indiehipstercuteness/10

Latest Spike Jonze release just made it into my Top 5 of 2010. So much win packed into 30 minutes that I was amazed. Cool concept, great music. It's cute. It's hipster. It's indie. And I'm a hopeless romantic. Two robots in love end up evoking more emotion that most humans try to in feature films thrice its length.

Free to stream here btw: http://www.imheremovie.com

Last night I watched eXistenZ, a 1999 science fiction film written and directed by David Cronenberg, about a sort of virtual reality video game people can plug themselves into. The story begins with the world's most famous game designer (played by Jennifer Jason Leigh) unveiling her latest creation, the titular eXistenZ. An attempt on her life is made, and she is forced to flee with another company employee (Jude Law), bringing the game with them. Weirdness ensues as they find a safe place to hide and try playing the strange new game.

For some reason, eXistenZ is often compared to The Matrix, presumably because both films include characters being hooked up to a fantasy world through machinery. However, all similarities end there. Whereas The Matrix is a fairly straight-forward action film, eXistenZ is a creepy, convoluted thriller where the guns are made of flesh and bone and the fantasy world is much more surrealistic and incomprehensible. A horror movie as much as anything else, with an unsettling mood and some rather gory special effects (it's not a splatter movie, I hasten to add). Recommended if you like that sort of thing.

I saw that film a couple of years ago, and it did indeed strike me. It certainly left a much more profound impact than The Matrix, which I found to be more pretentious than anything else.

I hadn't realised Boardwalk Empire had already kicked off; it hasn't reached the UK at least. I read an article about it recently and it sounds like it could be very good. I need something to fill the void when/if I ever stop watching The Sopranos again and again and again.

I heard great things about ''The Social Network' from sources I trust, and from people close to me.  That's a definite rental for me in the future.  Even the Golden Globes gave it recognition.

All you need to know is Aaron Sorkin wrote the screenplay, that really should be enough. Brilliant movie.

I think I'll wait to netflix it or something worth my time for The Social Network. Seriously, regardless of who wrote the screenplay, it's about a guy who makes a web page to get laid... Yeah... it can wait.

Michael Jackson's This Is It.
Been meaning to watch this one for awhile. should be good.
