Riot - Born in America (1983)

Second and final album with the late Rhett Forrester on vocals. The band would go on hiatus after that and would reform with a completely different line-up (and heavier sound) 5 years later.

Riot - Thundersteel (1988)

The one with Lord Voldemort on the cover. An all time power metal classic album!

As a curiosity, the (excellent) drummer on the album is Bobby Jarzombek, later a member of Rob Halford’s band.

Riot - The Privilege of Power (1990)

A relative disappointment after what came immediately before. More experimental, including a horn section and an Al DiMeola cover, it signalled the end of the 3rd era in Riot’s history.

It would be another 3 years before the band released new music with a new singer, Mike DiMeo, but that album will have to wait until tomorrow.

I had that album. The horns in some songs are atrocious. Best song was the DiMeola cover...go figure. Thundersteel (Voldemort Tank album) was so much better.
