I agree with the first statement, but the second - spandex for the win!I think they looked better in that era than they had since the Number of the Beast era.
Certainly better than stripey spandex...
AOB - 1/2 fillers, but the rest of the songs are the strongest. His best album imo.
For someone who seems to hold up nearly every song in the Maiden catalogue as an indisputable classic, this strikes me as an interesting take. Which songs do you consider to be filler?AOB - 1/2 fillers, but the rest of the songs are the strongest.

The songs are: ''Freak'' (sounds very different from the whole album) and ''Toltec 7 Arrival''.
Also, ''Welcome To The Pit'' is not a strong song imo.
Maybe because the song is not in the traditional heavy metal style? Psycho Motel vibe.100% agree about Welcome to the Pit, it baffles me how Adrian wrote (one of) the best and worst songs off that album.

Well, you do regularly wax poetic about how great song X from the Maiden catalog is, even when it's generally held in low esteem. I can cite examples if you don't believe me...Nearly every song in the catalogue as a classic? Wow.
OK. @srfc was right, I read your comment as saying half (1/2) the album was filler, not 1 or 2 (1/2).The songs are: ''Freak'' (sounds very different from the whole album) and ''Toltec 7 Arrival''.

The whole solo section is straight out of a song on Psycho Motel, I think Sins of Your Father
EDIT: it is the weakest song on the album and Freak is down there too but both aren't bad
