Really this solo has brought him on the spotlight again. He is the hot name right now.

I think it has to do with Eddie Van Halen being dead. He is a huge Eddie freak and while when he was alive he wouldn’t dare to challenge his idol now he’s gone he wants to be the man now, as part of holding the torch and flame alive
