NOW PLAYING

Do you have the album with bonus disc with jams? I Play that second disc more :p
I use Spotify. Only ever heard the bonus disc once, but I remember it being pretty good...
Certainly much better than Three Minute Warning!

I was about to write how the first album is the only one I listen to all the way through (I usually stop LTE2 after Chewbacca too), but then I realized it's about 30 minutes more than I pretend it is. I wish I could un-remember some things the way I did with 3MW...

Iron Maiden - Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

Another amazing song from the Smith/Harris/Dickinson combo! Heavy and melodic. Adrian with a guitar synthesizer (a nod to 1986). The verses and the chorus are great and the pre-chorus is effective. The melodic riff is unique and one of the band's best imo. I like the calm part before the chorus, it's so good. Nicko's drumming is top-notch, while the solos of Adrian and Janick are very good (the fast part after Adrian's solo and the verses after it are highlights for me). Bruce's performance is great, as always (a lot of singing for him, but I wouldn't cut any parts of the song). The intro and the outro are really needed for the song. :rocker:

I really hope the next album will have a Smith/Harris/Dickinson song again - the last one was in 2010! Maybe a title track, since this combo haven't written such a song yet. I wonder what their decision will be, but I think the writing credits will be similar to the latest album (Smith/Dickinson, Gers/Harris, (a lot) only Harris, Smith/Harris and maybe Murray/Harris).

The album from 1981 is their most heavy metal one, although I've always viewed them as a hard rock band. For me this is their second best album (it's better than Hysteria and if the last song on the album was different it would have tied with Pyromania for the 1st spot) with gold classics such as ''Let It Go'', ''Another Hit And Run'', ''Bringin' On The Heartbreak'', ''Lady Strange'', ''Mirror, Mirror (Look Into My Eyes)'' and the instrumental ''Switch 625''. The other songs are very good too. If you want riffs, this is the album for you. :rocker:

I think they should have re-recorded ''Ride Into The Sun'' (from their debut EP) for this album.
