Now Playing (Video Games)

Got the System Shock 2 remaster and am quite excited to dive into it this weekend. Played the remake of the original last year and loved it.

Doom Eternal’s DLC is hard, even on the easiest difficulty level. Having to kill those booster demons with the plasma rifle’s microwave beam is a pain in the ass!

I'm currently stuck in that first "challenge" of Blood Swamps (with the green circle to start it), where it's first totem-buffed Revenants and Prowlers, then two Hell Knights and various Carcasses, then another totem and two Cyberdemons Tyrants appear and once you slay either of those, two Hell Barons appear (i. e. two for each Tyrant slain), with the last wave having one Baron with that boost by the Spirit that you mention. All the while there's tons of various shit spitting fodder demons.

On Nightmare it's absolutely insane, the crowd control is pretty much RNG, even utilising the slow down rune and the sort-of bullet time when you switch weapons it's so brutal and overwhelming I just don't know how to beat that. On PC maybe (I'm pretty proud of my FPS proficience with keyboard and mouse, besides, all the fan-made wads were pretty difficult, maybe more difficult than this), but on console it's just ... insane. I refuse to be beat and to lower down the difficulty, but I don't see how I'm going to do this, lol.

Lol, there’s so many obnoxious demons in that game, with carcasses probably being at the top of the list (saying nothing of the damn arch viles).

That first DLC has some outstanding level design, though. The feel of each level is so unique.

Best of luck. You have far more patience than I do!

You need to have gathered at least 1800 essence to get the awoken dream nail, with which you can do the white palace to get the required item (to get the next required item). You're not locked out and can still do it, but depending on how much essence you have it could be quite a grind.
I actually got 2400 essence, got the void heart and all that jazz.... so I'm sure I have to go BACK to the white palace? Anyway, like I said, I'm done with that game for now, maybe in a year or so I'll revisit it.

Finished South of Midnight, highly recommend it, it's heart wrenching and the Soundtrack has been on my Now Playing for about a week.

Started playing Space Marine: Master Crafted Edition. My friends and I have been playing the second one and the original wasn't on the xbox store even though it was a 360 title. It was on Steam, but I don't particularly like gaming on my PC unless it's an RTS. At any rate, it's definitely designed to barrel through it with no chapter breaks aside from a title card when entering a room. You get a cinematic cut scene and right back to it. It's good mindless fun like Gears of War.

Fucking finally! The cliffhanger of DS1 is still one of the most hype moments in gaming.
My only complaint is Strife didn't get his own stand alone game like the other horsemen. Genesis was fun, but he got done dirty in that regard. But definitely happy they're finally wrapping it up.

Anyone here ever played System Shock 2? Picked up the remaster and I’m loving it. I do wish that Nightdive had done a full remake like they did with the original System Shock, but that’s a minor gripe. Definitely a game for anyone who likes the immersive BioShock-type exploration-based RPG/shooters.

I have both System Shock games, the originals and the remasters, but they're in my back catalogue. played through the tutorial of the second one, because the friends I game with wanted to play on our next session, but that's it. I actually haven't been gaming for a while due to life, but I'll get to them at some point.
